Great pedal steel guitar from the unmistakable sound and style of Pete Drake, and Paul Franklin playing petes licks on Alan Jacksons version, well done Paul Franklin its a great tribute to the legendary Pete Drake. I love both versions .
I`m an old Jim Ed fan & a current Alan Jackson fan. I like both versions, & both men have great voices.I remember Jim Edward from his first Fabor release.
@TheRobert2254 ...not close enough though...country's gonna keep getting worse if at least a couple singers dont return to the old REAL style of COUNTRY music.
well i thought they got together, most of these "on stage togrther are miserable, however, you did all right-- what needs to be done is to get charlie mcclain and alan really live to do who's cheatin' who! that would be pretty cool-- what makes thid great is the band alan has backing him--thanks harp..............
Thanks bigtex , this one went straight to my favorites. great song by both artists and thats hard to come by with what they call "country music" today !!!!
Brilliant! So glad Alan Jackson didn't butcher the feel of this song. Actually. I Love it with the harmonies AJ added. Still, it's almost impossible to match Jim Ed's silky smooth effortless style. Great post Big Tex! ~KW

Alan needs to stick with Here In the Real World and stop trying to be Jim Ed Brown.
