im fourteen and am fourth in the standings for the NJ Junior PGA at 14. Some of my friends that are girls now have very good swings but she actually swings through the ball.! My friends i cant explain they go through the ball the same speed as there backswing but she explodes through the ball, but its all about the consistancy XD

The taylormade burner driver is so awesome!! I love it!! You have to buy this club if you like looks along with great distance it is really popular for being able to hit Golf Balls the same direction consistently. It also has this dial on it that lets you adjust whether it fades or draws easier.

wow... this girl's got a beautiful swing. she'll be great one day. however, unless there was a 30 mph tail wind with the green 100 ft below, this girl is not physically capable of driving the ball 290 yards. sorry, i just don't buy it.

@ixmanmortgage... well, you did say she drove a 290 yd par four. i'm guessing it wasn't on the fly. anywho, as far as the jumping goes, it's not a bad thing if she knows how to control it and time it, which is very impressive at her age, and can't really be taught.

@senorchipotle True enough. I think we're talking about 10 or 11 on Sienna Plantation last year. It's safe to say that the conditions were optimum :) Her typical drives are 220, with the good ones going 250 and the great ones a little more.

She has cured the jumping with a pause in her back swing - a la Ay Miyazato - only her pause is halfway up before she gets to the top. It looks a little strange but her consistency is much improved. Quiets the knees. Thanks! Bob.

@ixmanmortgage OK, about this driving a 290 yd par 4...if she only hits the ball 220-250 (when she kills it), why was she hitting driver. If she doesn't hit the drive of her life, she has some wierd half wedge distance. So why?

@MKotthoff Yeah, that's a good point. We've struggled with her "awkward distance shots" a lot. Recently, she's started pulling out her 5 wood instead of her driver on most par fours for that very reason. It's helping her scores.

270 i dont think so more like 210 220 you should buy a rangefinder i thought i was crushing drives 300+ when i was going 280 -295

270 is her max drive, where she drove a par 4 that was that long (it was 276, actually). Not this one.

She's driven a 290 yard par 4 since then.

Thanks, Gregman. It was my understanding that lateral hip movement is something to avoid. Also, she's already one of the longest hitting pre-teen girls out there, so I guess she's safe with what she's got.

As for the follow though: well, different strokes....
