  • All rounder, with a slight preference to Carp in the summer months.

  • @cheesler169 Nice, a good variety is great fun :)

  • I'd have thought the Anglers Mail would have donated you one - Poor that.

  • @cheesler169 Never mind! What sort of fishing do you do?

  • That Rudd was a bog standard Rudd by the way..... and you'd find netting fish a lot easier with a longer landing net pole. Good videous though.

  • @cheesler169 Cheers, we have got a longer landing net pole now, as then that was all we could afford.

  • so do you use your okuma tritan reel for all your float and waggler fishing?

  • @seansfishingjournal at the moment yes, but that is because we can't afford anything better at the moment!

  • is that a tf gear rod?

  • @TheBrogers1 nope, it's an old mitchel rod.

  • so what reel are u using with this float rod then?

  • @seansfishingjournal Hi, in this video we were using our little okuma tritan reels.

  • So basicly like a normal float rod but bream, tench, perch ,roach up to 7ouces it won't be too stiff

  • so can this rod handle fish from 1oz to 15lb?

  • @seansfishingjournal may be a little too stiff for a 1oz fish but certainly 5oz roach up to 20lb carp it should be fine.

  • thanks so is this rod strong and probaly wont snap?

  • @seansfishingjournal nah, is should not snap.

  • can you guys tell me what float rod do you use and what reel thanks because im a bit stuck on what float rod and reel to get thanks.

  • @seansfishingjournal We have the Middy Animal Tamer Rod, it can be used at a number of lengths up to 16ft. But at the shorter lengths is perfect for pellet waggler, insert waggler, trotting small rivers etc. As for a reel, any shimano/okuma reel should do the job. Just make sure is a reasonable small/light reel.

  • yeah carpmuppet what's your problem? if you're so great why don't you post a video of you bagging up in "fish - free" serbia instead of just saying these guys are rubbish. anyway they can only fish the water in front of them, however easy it is

  • Nice Video..and that was a lovely common carp too..Plus carpmuppet seriously dude, these lad's are barely sharing infromation for people who actually enjoy fishing on fishable water, weather you catch or not.but you make no point within what you say about fishing in Serbia "Where there are no fish left" seriously i think that alot of bull cause so where in serbia they has to be fish..like this lad are doing there just sharing, bragging about it haha, seriously any size fish easy build up a good bag

  • its easy to fish in lake full of fish... go somewere else, than prove yourself

  • @carpmuppet We have nothing to prove, we are happy with being who we are. :) But yes there is more skill involved in harder venues and we are fishing more and more tricky venues at the moment. Including the specimen lakes at Tanyards, resivoirs and a few small rivers. We hope you like our other videos.

  • @HookedOnFishing000 u posted on yt, so u want to proof someone u can fish... come here in Serbia, where is no more fish left, than when u catch 5 pound carp on 2 maggots, than u can film video and brag about it..

  • @carpmuppet We posted it on youtube to share our experiences with other fishermen.

So in Serbia there are no fish? How did you catch a fish in Serbia if there are no fish left? We were not bragging, just sharing.

  • @HookedOnFishing000 experiences is there to teach someone how to fish, u r not teaching anyone anything... everyone can cast 2 maggots in lake full of fish...

Come here and try ur expirience, than u will se how little u know about fishing. be my guests

  • @carpmuppet We have never said that we know alot about fishing, and no, we would rather not come over to Serbia,''Where there are no fish left''.

  • do you reckon you two will get a bigger slot in anglers mail soon if you wanted it?? also when im fishing for carp and using maggots i cant seem to get any as the roach and rud seem to swarm the swim, any advice? :)

  • @Thealmightygimp We could possibly get a bigger slot and that is what we we hope for the future.

Firstly try using bigger baits like sweet corn, lob worm pellets and boilies. Hope this helps!

  • Wats your roach PB? Mine is 1.5 lb. :D

  • @MrLittleyellowduck Carls is 1lb 8oz and Alex's is the one in the video I think.

  • :)

  • Thx Carl I'm going fishing on Friday so I'll try it then. I was using a size 18 before. I'll try a 22

  • On a canal when your getting bites offb2 and3 oz roach what hook size would tou recommend.

  • @MrLittleyellowduck Personally for that kind of fishing I would go with something like A 20 or 22. Hope that helps! From Carl. :)

  • @Hookedonfishing000

When I'm fishing for roach and Rudd I always miss them when I strike. Do you have any tips on how I can hook them easily

  • @theshitesti try a smaller hook, we often get little bites from roach and rudd and a smaller hook size helps us hook the fish. Also make sure the hook point is showing. Try getting the fish really confident before fishing for them by feeding little and often maggots, corn or something similar. Good luck!

  • Good catch mate

  • I can't believe u caught that carp on a maggot

  • @Leonnigalrickards carp do love maggots, especially during the colder months. thanks for the comment. :)

  • Hey fellas. Nice work. Where I fish ( New Zealand ) the river is full of golden rudd but I can't seem to master the art of hooking them. Every time I go out I get hundreds of takes and might only land 10 - 30. This becomes frustrating after a few hours. I generally use a tiny piece of bread with the point of the hook exposed. I'm not sure if I'm striking to soon or too late.

  • @martymoss42 if i were you i would try a single maggot on a size 14- 18 hook. if you still cant hit the bites try using a pole or whip with just a length of line and keep the line tight from the end of the pole to the hook and they should hook themselves. But don't get frustrated when you miss bites from Rudd because its often very hard to hit them!! good luck!

  • @HookedOnFishing000 Thanks, I tried a new hook (14), small running sinker with pop up bead few inches behind hook, only missed a handful. I also tried a tight line with whip and no. 7 elastic and did very well too. mostly I think it was getting the good quality hooks. got 50 odd in a couple of hours.

  • @martymoss42 nice one :) let us know if you get any bigger ones :)

  • my pb is 22lbs 12oz carp : ]

  • My pb roach 2lbs 4oz I caught it on the maggot feeder under a bridge didn't even know it was on

  • how do you get sponsered

  • Great job guys, down were i am we get tired of the roach the river is full of them! great fish though!

  • @manutddrew yep, Alex managed one in the end!

  • Great video guys, you 2 are great fishermen no wonder you got sponsored. Keep the vids coming.

  • @OllyandElisfishing thanks very much!

  • This is quality stuff guys! If only all youngsters - well, all anglers actualy - would have that attitude and fish care - and filming ability. Very well done. An indeed a stuning roach. Like to fish for them myself, as well as big rudd. Keep it up and looking forward to the next vid.

  • @TheMeistereckhart thanks very much! kind of you to say!

  • Very well done as always.

    Tight Lines
