There was something charming / artistic about computer generated images produced in the late 80's and early 90's. (These Xmas idents and the 'exploding transmitter' BBC news introduction being good examples.) Everything now looks so flashy and tarty in comparison :-(

I love the pleasant voiced announcer. Today everything on TV is so annoying. Even the announcers think they have to shout and crack jokes between programes.

Why is our society so noisy these days and whatever happened to the quiet british ?

Is that so? The continuity announcer makes it sound like the big day (perfect Christmas on 2) and the footage comes from an awfully overedited VHS. Once more I must thank you.
