For all the research this guy has done, he is really missing a few key points. Manna may very well mean "mushroom" but the Bible never states what kind of mushroom manna was. Not only that, but the Bible states that it was used for FOOD. Nowhere does it say that this manna was used as a means to see God. Also, it states that manna tasted sweet like honey. This could mean it actually tasted like honey or it just tasted really good. I've had magic mushrooms. They aren't exactly tasty.

However, there is a major flaw in studying that particular region that makes drawing conclusions such as that in "The Manna Mystery Solved?" unreliable. The regional climate of that area was vastly different then it is today. Sea levels were much lower, and the region was warm and wet, with the now deserts supporting hunting and herding or nomadic pastoralism
And of course the great flood in the OT was actually describing the rapidly rising sea levels that would have occurred after the end of the last ice age.

The Bible never once makes any remote assertion to the idea that the Israelites used manna as a way to "talk to God." Read Exodus chapter 16 and the surrounding chapters. It states that the Israelites cried out to God and God gave them Manna and Quail to eat as a result of his promise to sustain them.
If you read Numbers 11:4-6, 21:5 and 11:10-20 it clearly spells out that the Israelites were starving and needed manna to survive. Exodus says twice that each man would eat about an Omer of manna each day. An Omer is about 3.5 liters. If they were consuming psychedelic mushrooms that would be a lethal dose. people were compelled to walk in his law.

For all the research this guy has done, he is really missing a few key points. Manna may very well mean "mushroom" but the Bible never states what kind of mushroom manna was. Not only that, but the Bible states that it was used for FOOD. Nowhere does it say that this manna was used as a means to see God. Also, it states that manna tasted sweet like honey. This could mean it actually tasted like honey or it just tasted really good. I've had magic mushrooms. They aren't exactly tasty.

Mushrooms DO grow in the desert, Podaxis and Montagnea mushrooms grow in the Sonoran Desert, and therefore puts your damming comments of this video into disrepute. Also the mushrooms would not have been picked for sustanance, they would have been picked for the effects of the pscylocibin to have a spiritual experience as shamans and other religious leaders have done for centuries. Mushrooms do not grow in the desert. I'm not the one claiming this. Proposers of the mushroom conspiracy themselves are the ones who informed me. Mushrooms require rain. That is why in these conspiracies they always claim the Israelites were in a grassy forest wilderness, not a desert, for 40 years. There are some rare exceptions of mushrooms in desert environments in America but they are freak exceptions.

I watched the video and it is possibly correct, I wasnt saying that the other argument was the only infalable interpretation of the text. However, there is a major flaw in studying that particular region that makes drawing conclusions such as that in "The Manna Mystery Solved?" unreliable. The regional climate of that area was vastly different then it is today. Sea levels were much lower, and the region was warm and wet, with the now deserts supporting hunting and herding or nomadic pastoralism

The Bible never once makes any remote assertion to the idea that the Israelites used manna as a way to "talk to God." Read Exodus chapter 16 and the surrounding chapters. It states that the Israelites cried out to God and God gave them Manna and Quail to eat as a result of his promise to sustain them.

If you read Numbers 11:4-6, 21:5 and 11:10-20 it clearly spells out that the Israelites were starving and needed manna to survive. Exodus says twice that each man would eat about an Omer of manna each day. An Omer is about 3.5 liters. If they were consuming psychedelic mushrooms that would be a lethal dose. people were compelled to walk in his law.

The verse you mentioned about "walking in the law" is Exodus 16:4, read in context it reflects other verses in the Bible. God is saying that he had proven himself by providing his people manna as he said he would therefore the people would have no excuse to stray from God's law.
