It is also one of my favorites, too. I have been blessed to have seen Barbara Cook here in San Francisco a few times in her cabaret act. Still have an amazing voice! She's my all-time favorite!
My wife and I saw She Loves Me the last night of its limited run, and it was always our favorite Broadway show thereafter. Barbara Cook was marvelous, and stilll is these many decades later.
She Love Me was the very first musical/play I have ever done! I was very excited and fortunate to be cast as lead and I had a tremendous time putting on the show. It was a one of a kind experience and I truly miss being Amalia! Thank you for this lovely scrapbook! :)
"She Loves Me" was my first Broadway show. July 14, 1963, I sat in the first row in the loge for the evening performance--46 years later and it still resonates with me. Barbara Cook, Daniel Massy singing the tilte song in front of the curtain, Jack Cassidy--my first sexy villain. I hear the music now and am immediately transported to that night, my first, in the magical theater. I love this show, it reminds me of the evening shared with my parents. Many thanks to whoever put it on YouTube.
You are so fortunate to have seen She Loves Me. Barbara Cook is my alltime favorite. I have seen her in concert here in San Francisco a number of times. Check out my other musicals by clicking on my user name johntlew. Thanks again for the comment.
John, I've just returned from England and am listening to She Loves Me again and have posted it to my Facebook. Crumbs, there is simply no one to talk to about this sort of thing--it would be like finding someone who knew Bill Hinnant, as I did for many years by mail. What a talent. And he was a tremdously loyal friend.
Sublime! My dearest friend was a "Gypsy" in this show; a double threat, singer and dancer. Ms. Cook came to San Francisco about xx years ago for a performance in a very intimate "boit!" My friend and I were together and she went backstage after the show to say hello. Forty minutes went by and we thought she'd been kidnapped! Turns out Ms. Cook remembered her and they were just rehashing old times. I'm proud to have seen her in that venue! She was/is/and always be a treasure!
I saw this show in out of town tryout (Phila) on my birthday. I was enchanted. And am still.

Thanks for this scrapbook. I saw the revival with Boyd Gaines, but I have a feeling this one was the gold standard.
