WOWWWW Some1 Disliked this song? Really? this song is TIMELESS and GREAT. who could hate this song? i don't understand. Sorry but i LIKE it. Thanks, J
I fell in love with this tune, one of my favourite chicago disco house. I would love this awesome tune to be remixed with lots beats. Remix to the death, with rumba beat, salsa beat, tango beat, sioux beat, apache beat, cherokee beat.
My favorite record ever made too!!!!!! Thanks for posting! Jamie Principle is a genius for this! Greetings from DJ Swerv, Brighton Park Chicago Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ladybrown75 You just described the exact thing me and my boys use to do in the Summer of `85! We had our little one speaker, one tape deck box on the porch and just chilled...until my mom yelled for me to get in the house. lol
i love this song so very, very, very much, it is the most beautiful, amazing, wonderful tune every made in 80s chicago disco house music, when i close my eyes i can see angels and what heavan is like, amazing
The was one of my Favorite songs of all time by them. I had no idea who they were back then and I loved hearing this track on WBMX radio and WGCI!!!! i was not even born in Chicago but loved this music so much!
man i grew up on all this my moms played this all the time God it brings back so many memory s its a chicago thing baby cant explain you all know what im talking about its just something
TRUE LOVE!!!!!!!! creds for this. Honor and glory may shine on the one that placed a TRUE REAL classic like this here. Feel like crying every time i here THIS tune.Where did stuff like this go.. All hale the true Masters AMen
@silverlaws 8 ALWAYS MY DUDE!!! our underground scene was so harrddd!!!! everytime i go back home i cant wait to get to the underground scene... what's poppin in the CHI now
definitely some major UK and New Wave influence in this track. But perhaps that is why I really like Principles work. There is a lot of House out there, especially nowadays, that is just crap. But this is beautiful electronic music. This dude made some serious tunes in those days with a good sense for the right drum tracks and synthesizer lines.
This sounds very British. You can certainly hear New order and human league in this track.Just goes to show even though nostalgic programs make jamie out to be some kind of visionary, nobody can escape influence and that goes for everyone in music.Good track though
More from english northern soul, but that is definitely motown influenced :D Well electronic music is global. Soul came from the US into the UK and formed british Northern Soul. This also influenced punk and postpunk and from that New Wave/New Romantic synthesizer music which influenced a very talented black kid in chicago. Something like that. Music conquers borders, classes, colours, religions. So bifftv1975 is totally right. And the sound is definitely very brit New Romantic/New Wavy.
hOT DAMN what a great day-im literally in bed with the headphones on throwing it on full blast like when I was kid. bring out the boomboxes and break dance on cardboard boxes flattened and held together by duct tape..SOUTHSIDE CHITOWN FOREVER!
What part of South-Chi are you from?? I grew up in Morgan Park/Beverly area. Went to Mt. Vernon Elem., and Morgan Pk. HS. Good to hear another breaker-househead still jammin to the GROUNDBREAKING house music! L:ONG LIVE WBMX and the Hot-Mix 5!! Farley "Funkin" Keith, Mickey "Mixin" Oliver, Scott "Smokin" Silz, Ralphi Rosario and Kenny "Jammin" Jason. Saturday Night Live, Aint No Jive! Hosted by Armando! Those were the days!!
Get the greedy bastards. Jaimie Principle I love you, too. Plenty of my babies were conceived and their mothers were swooned by your music. Please get the energy of the 80's back and let me rock their world again to a beautiful track.
this old skool music has made me feel young again!!!!this was my life when i was 15.and now at 38 yrs old ---i am truly waitn on my angel to come back to me!!!!its been too long.thank you for all the great --truly magnificent music.you have made my life come alive again
Wells Fargo Fraud I know how they work I am a former supervisor who worked at the sweatshop in Schaumburg, IL I know all about the fraud and predatory lending practices I filed a lawsuit Disability Discrimination Failure to accommodate multiple civil rights violations. They kicked me to curb and refused to honor my request for COBRA I Don Darryl Chicago
This is MikeAlike( buy my record "Model Male")- real curious why people like Jamie and Steve Silk who crafted and molded a sound (it evolved) which is close to what now is mainstream(listen to "Circus" Brittney Spears)- why you all are still gone? Whose your busines managers- they suck.
There should be compilation mixes of Pop sellouts (Brittney/Rihanna) and needs be Jamie mixed in and sold to masses of people. Step up Please.
Steve Hurley is a world famous producer and remixer. He is an industry heavy-weight. Jamie had his own issues, more an artist than a business person. But many of the house DJs and producers from that era have become very successful music producers and highly sought after remixers, here and abroad.
I'm Chicago born/raised- my second 12"from Rolling Stone Records:"Waiting On My Angel" my producers range from Mystic Bill ("Jungle Line"); Sonic Groove's Dan Physics. My point 2 the last post is, music is/has become washed out and the personalities selling the commerical product now are bland in comparison- 2 give mass culture real inspiration/correct respect, its wise 2 teach a lesson..using superstars who think they R onto something "new" is the way - PLUS Jamie need b revered.
Bra you came out with "Mendel"! I used to get there with my guys and as soon as we paid and that song came on, we'd be running in the gym to find someone to dance with on the downstairs checkered floor...LOL I remember those days and listening to the song now takes me right back to when it was all good in the city. Cats were still knucklin up. You were the shit if you had this song on a cassette tape...LOL
I remember waiting for Frankie Knuckles to play this at the PowerPlant in '85 or so. This was one of the quintessential house songs...one of the 3 (in my opinion) original house songs. As a DJ at the time, these were the songs we played at Mendel that helped move the crowd from the garage sound into the House Music era.
Stellar track!
I couldn't believe this was from 1985...take me back their now!
