mate when conducting an IFR training, is it a must to have a GPS onboard?

Nope, I learned without GPS in my training. Best thing that I did.

Both, but for HKS it's ILS (ground based) and GPS. My home airport, VOR Alpha has a lower minimum then the GPS due to obstacles.
so is it still vor's or all Gps Now?
