Sir Jimmy Young is very sadly missed. Medicals on Monday, Food on Thursdays and Legals on Fridays. How I miss the serious interviews and the quality broadcasting from Sir Jim!

The BEEB thought him too outdated,so they put JY on a less important slot & then he (quite rightly) left. A well worn phrase "if it ain't broke,don't fix it. Vine is ok,but the midday-2pm slot lost some listeners after JY was shifted

@nickmeltham the vocal jingle i remember JY used was "ITS THE JIMMY YOUNG SHOW, MORNING RADIO" hope that helps; if you go to a website called "RADIO REWIND " its about RADIO 1,2 and lists most of the DJs & their JINGLES &THEMES its really great brings back lots of memorys
