MY speedtest shows me speeds lately of..... and I shit you not. 0.06 Download and, get this shit, 0.26 upload. how the fuck does that shit happen? Then coned my wife into a 2 year contract while I was at work. Even though we told them and the bank to stop taking money out of our band they still do it, so we get fucked out of about $40 a month, unexpectedly and the speeds still don't go up. they told my wife that the speed will go down if we are later on the bill. still slow after it's paid. WTF!
@ANIMAL7tfl it's not for anything, not even checking internet. you know, 5 bars sometimes takes 5 MINUTES to load google. speed tests run from 200kbps to 1.3mb/s never 1.5 like I am paying for and never consitently. you can do 3 tests in a row and get any speed anytime, half the time the upload is faster than the download at 250kbps. And you know what? I ASKED THE GUY if it would be ok for gaming being wireless and all. KNOW WHAT HE SAID? YES. So stfu and quit defending this scam.

I call them again tell them that i can barely play a you tube video then they say they don't support video streaming.Shitwire is the biggest waste of money ever! My clearwire works fine on Safari On vista but for download Fils or torrent this is compleate shit! i have had it forever and when i tried DSL on my Grandmothers computer i was like WHAT THE FUCK! (WTF)
yeah, clearwire is really fucking slow 90% of the time. i just ran a speakeasy speed test. results were 279kbps. It's normally more around 600kbps and my plan is 1.5mbps. That's with a 100% signal. According to the lights on the box anyway. I had them replace the box last week and it was great until yesterday. It started slowing down again. So far it has taken.... 9 minutes to load 5 minutes of this 10 minute video.
That's so strange. When Clearwire first came to my area, I went up to their store and tried the in store machine's connection. It was pretty quick, got faster than the full 1.5Mb as advertised. I had also used it as a backup connection for a job I had awhile back, and had a pretty speedy connection. I know Duluth was one of the first few areas it was rolled out in, so maybe I was trying it before all of the customers hit it. Other than speed however, I have heard a lot about throttling issues.

If you live in an apartment with lots of cement structure or in a house or apartment with double or triple pane windows, don't get Clearwire. Your reception will royally suck.
well one thing is that it will have more connection with the WiMax. A deal was just made with sprint and the modem is going to have connection like the sprint air cards. so that is pretty much anywhere. i know some people has fast clearwire and slow. mines pretty slow. but when the connection comes to affect all of are modems will have speeds up to 12 mbps. i'm not lying. i dont know exactly y the gaming modem is different. i dont work for clearwire anymore anyways. i quit May 30th.

my speed is pretty good on clearwire. i have a 2mbs connection and my speed test show on average i have 1.7 - 1.9 kbs download. i guess it depends where you live and how many ppl are using it.
My experience has been the same. I can consistently get 5 bars, however, my speeds harken back to dial-up days. I have to pause Youtube Vids to allow them to fully load before I can watch them without delays. Clearwire is without a doubt, THE WORST isp I have ever used!
You probably live outside the service area and can't get anything else. I'm guessing they never should have sold you service anyway. Looks like Netzero for you!
Depending on where you live can greatly effect your speeds. If a ton of people in your area have clearwire as well then expect slow ass speeds. But even with that said. Clearwire is still complete shit.
Some areas get good reception, some get horrible reception. I work for Clearwire Tech Support myself, so I see this every day. It just can't be helped.

You can get UP TO 100mbps between a computer and the router it is connected to...
However, as MrNick80 has already stated, you CANNOT increase your up/down speeds to/from the net simply by installing a router...
