  • really bad drivetrain movement, need some solid motor mounts and some poly bushings all over, looks like someothing is going to get ripped appart lol. Awesome power, sound etc.... I want to build a VR6, I have a GTi 1.8T with 315 whp and 340 tq Its really nice but I need more power on a beater so if it blows I can drive my other car to work lol.

  • get a OBD II MK III GLX vr6 even with well over 100k on the motor it will handle around 350+ on stock internals and head gasket spacer if motor was maintained properly plus they are only about 500-1500 more than a gls would be...

  • i agree asshole, cast iron are strong and can hold up but since overheating is a problem nowadays some of ford v8 are made with aluminum.

  • look boy, you dont speak for the rest of the world. they have their share of favorites. if you did you research, aluminum heads were combined with the cast iron block in ford history. and no shiet you need coolant to keep your engine cool unless its and air cooled engine like porsches. dont give a lecture like i dont know stupid fuck. lemme remind you about efficiency, do your research on every kind of motors and see how much hp/Liter it makes.

  • c2 stg 2 software - turn that up to 24 - its good to 6500rpm and you will probably hit 460whp

    for the doubters - headspacer only thing these motors need to make 500whp

    but a fully built engine will last much longer

  • 1st off asshole, those vtec motors you're referring to are more efficient with the power/Liter. and 2nd ignorant asshole, they are from FUCKING JAPAN!

  • 2jz's (supra) max out at around 600-700whp with the stock engine. There is apparently one making closer to 1000

    RB (nissan) engines go to about that level too

    6 bolt 4g63s (mitsubishi) will handle 500awhp, and the new 4gs in the EVO's the power capability is unknown, close to 600 has been had.

    Many production LSX series engines come from the factory with more than 500whp

    500+whp out of H22 honda engines

    You're right no other engine maxes out the stock short block at 440hp, most make a lot more

  • i personally drive a mk4 gti vr6 turbo stage 2 from eip with 9:0 forged and cryo treated pistons. i am running the exact management that you have on the jetta peice for peice from c2 but im only running 10psi. but its nice with the 6 speed!! great car though and please be safe! God bless!

  • i have been in contact with chris in town from c2 asking 4 stage 3 injectors and ecu but no luck so far i'm pushing 15 psi at 320 hp but am running lean , i wish i could turn my boost up to 20.5 are you running water/meth injection?

  • im only running 10 psi but with the 42lb injectors and 4inch mass air housing im running 3/4 rich. about 290 wheel hp now. i drive the car everywhere so i need the gear box to last!

Ive owned german cars all my life, Its all ive known, would I be a ricer if I made a BMW 318 into a 500hp car with full suspension, great brakes, sway bars, ect ect. No It would have a purpose, fast and it could handle. This jetta has a purpose. yea its different, alot different then a mustang with flowmasters and a mullet flowing out the window.

  • I don't know shit about cars, but I would think if you sacrificed a little of that top end power, to fill in the bottom or first 3k rpmos of that torque curve a bit, you'd solve alot of your traction problems. The rates at which your hp and torque curves go up is amazing! Impressive none the less, and again, I don't know shit about shit!

  • you are correct on not knowing about cars, Turbo's don't fill the bottem 3k. thats the beauty of it. if it did fill the bottem your spooling to quick and would be no where near the power level your hoping for. A small turbo is required to fill the lower rpms. like the Neon SRT-4, The only fix for traction problems are sticky tires.

  • Well here is another update guys. We are now doing a air to water intercooler setup, full DTA standalone and bigger injectors. It is getting very interesting in 07.

  • VW owners believe they exist, because they do. But they don't care, and neither do I. Aside from all the rants here, this car is pretty down tremendous power and more importantly than HP, it has a huge amount of peak torque (the stuff hondas don't have).

  • Whats up guys, I just wanted to give you all a Jetta update for the 07 season. We found out what the mount problem was and it will be fixed this year. I also want to note it will be a 3.0 this year, should be fun. The car has also gotten a makeover. I will be making vids of the new setup probably early spring.

    Hondas don't need 2 extra cylinders, more displacement, and 20 pounds of boost to make over 400hp on a gt40. Comparing this car to a honda is apples and oranges.

    Nice car and great dyno. Looks like you guys need some stiffer mounts in there. There is serious engine movement. That can be bad for axles on the track with some sticky tires.
