  • these plastic clamps are okay to use BUT tighten down the screws evenly. Kinda a methodical process. I must say though, that I trust the metal hose clamps more for any sort of higher presser application

  • You're hilarious and helpful :) God bless!

  • Nice tip with metal clamps. Noticed a rainbow at 5.50 too.. fun fun.

    Thanks for putting this video.

  • @browse4tp Thanks. Rainbows are magical. :-) God bless you.

  • thank you SO much for making this video. i totally cracked up. Im single femal with amature gardening and handywoman experience. tried to repair the nozzle end with the metal parts, (yes I knew to use metal) the problem was that I didnt feed it through the hose first and cut my thumb really bad trying to feed and tighten the clamp at the same time. I told myself that there had to be an easier way. so been googling all morning for help and I found you. THANK YOU! saved my fingers and my day.

  • @elsitabebe I'm sorry you got hurt. Hope you fixed your water hose.

  • im so GLAD That I found your tutorial. single female amature gardener and handywoman! I knew that a hose could get fixed so I bought my METAL nozzle repair kit. I knew to use metal tho! hahaha HOWEVER, I did NOT feed the clamp through the hose FIRST and instead thougth to undo it and push it together with my hands. i tried for two day using pliers and wrenchs to try to tighten it, but I couldnt do. I ended up cutt my thumb n said to myself there has to be an easier way and i found THIS!

  • I use KY Jelly because it is water soluble. Good job!

  • When you said "I probably should've put the clamp on the hose first" I died laughing. You're teaching style is a bit unorthodox but its effective and funny!

  • You busted me and exposed me as the amateur I am! :-) I'm glad you had a laugh and hopefully you are encouraged to try repairing anything that needs fixing. If I can do it, you can, too! Have a great day.

  • Haha you're so funny! "From now on I'm going to just stick with using all metal pieces. Okay, I'm gonna try this again. I'm gonna stick this plastic piece in the hose..."

  • @kular22 Yeah, I see the irony, too. I guess I should have said, "For now on I'll only BUY metal parts." Since this plastic piece was already paid for, I decided to use it in combination with a metal clamp. Darn plastic.

  • I damaged most of my hoses by not turning off the valve at the side of the house and relieving the pressure. The sun heats up and expand the remaining water and shortens the life of the hose. I know better now.

  • @wtam69 That's a good tip. Thanks.

  • Can I get the heat back in Cali. Please

  • @doug2877 Wow, I didn't realize it was so much cooler in California. I checked your weather online and what you have now is what I expect to see in another couple months! At least you're saving money on air conditioning. Our AC runs just about all day.

  • That's a nice trick - spraying a bit of lube on the fitting. I once used my wife's hair dryer to heat up the hose end, before slipping the fitting into the hose. You're right about those plastic clamps, no good! Hose clamps really do the job best. I was hoping to see an "after shot" with all the plants perked up!! ;-}} RL Atlanta, GA

  • @rlewis1946 I like the hair dryer idea, especially during cooler weather. Yeah, the plants definitely perked up and are looking much healthier already. They needed that water badly! Thanks for your comment.
