  • Best part.... when they censor "hell"

  • If me and my friends had been around these commercials, then I think it's safe to say that wii would NOT like to have played.

  • Great commercial when every character used in the MKII clips is called Kung Lao.

  • This is the sort of radical stuff you won't see outside of the 90s.

  • 90's for cool kids in one commercial

  • yoshi looks fucking mashed

  • Kirby is a totally radical home dog. For shizzle.

  • Thumbs up if you saw Kirby and Mario. :3

  • I wish I grew up with the SNES :(

  • butthole surfers and nintendo, two of my favorite names (the reason is not the names, but what is behind those names, and it's all pure awesomeness)

  • I loved this commercial!! I'd rush to the living room to watch it!! This totally summed up teenage life in the 90s! Now Nintendo has betryed the very people that made them. Now Wii is a "family" console and the DS is a portable system for girls.....I only use my DS to play old GBA games........

  • @rang3r34 they're still some good games on the DS.

    pokemon is one of them

ghost trick is another one of them

  • @assholemon I'll check it out, Thanks! ;) I usually only use my DS to play GBA games without having to waste money on batteries.

  • @rang3r34 Do yourself a favor. Get "The World Ends with You" for the DS if your looking for games. Considered one of the best games of the last decade. The DS has become THE niche system. Research, choose your games wisely, and you won't be disappointed. Oh yeah, and Pokemon has hundreds of hours of potential gameplay. Lots of cool in-depth mechanics.

  • @UltimateDarknezz999 Well, if you say so I'll give those a try..I DID enjoy the Final Fantasy XII sequel that is on DS.

  • Ahh the 90's is when nintendo had balls. Now nintendo is pussying out with their family oriented games

  • 0:35 ...Neither of them are kung lao

  • Comment removed

  • 0:53 ...Who's that fighting Bear Huger?

  • @inpatwetrust Must be a pre-release version of the game.

  • when was this made, 1995?

when was this sent out, 2003?

  • This is so trippy, youth driven, and 90s. It makes me want to buy a SNES, when I own one..

  • They seriously need to bring this ad campaign back!

  • I'm never going to play any SNES games again. Ever.

  • YEAH! I always played Super Metroid with my hat on backwards and riding a skateboard and loud guitars and mountain dew and $%#%EXTREME^%$#HOLYFUCKINGSWEATINSTEADOFBLOOD:($#$!

  • This wasn't what youth culture was like back in the mid 1990s. This is what a marketing department thought youth culture was like back in the mid 1990s.

  • the lyric is "who the HELL was in my bed?" but the bleep makes you hear FUCK in your mind

  • The 90s was a magical time.

  • @MurraySkull It was the EXTREMEST of times.

  • You got your Sega ad in my Nintendo ad!

  • 0.29 Butthole Surfers jugando MK :)

  • Butthole surfers y Nintendo :D, es como queso con bocadillo ¿? mi comercial favorito junto con ese de loquiño que no encuentro.

  • Yeah kids, be heard and seen by staying inside and playing video games all day!

  • Oh you're such rebels nintendo. The fact that they were removing blood from Mortal Kombat and other very stupid censorship moves wasn't lost on me or my friends.

We still preferred if over genesis because the games were on the whole a lot better.

  • GIVE THE WORLD A WEDGIE - wow if there's ever a line that sums up a marketing campaign's retarded views of youth culture, that was it right there.

  • I hadn't seen this commercial since I was in elementary school! Good memories!

Thanx to whoever uploaded this! :)

  • butthol surfer and nintendo? lolwhut?

  • man those were the days, where you could be a 15 year old playing with your nintendo consoles an be totaly badass and cool

    not at all like toay

  • The Butthole surfers + Nitendo = One Great commercail !

  • Wow, Nintendo had the first XTREME commercial...

    ...thanks, I guess...

  • Nintendo: Just go the Wii way and make yourself look like you want the Family to be peaceful and have a good time. Dont try to become the "Rule Abiding Rebel", and dont make commercials that seem that "The man is sticking to the man".

  • Games shown in Ad (in order of appearance): Super Street Fighter 2 Super Metroid Adventures of Batman and Robin NBA Jam (T.E perhaps?) Virtual Bart The Itchy and Scratchy Game Mortal Kombat II NHL Stanley Cup Mortal Kombat Donkey Kong Country Mega Man X Tommy Moe's Winter Extreme Skiing and Snowboarding Beavis and Butt-Head Super Punch Out Shaq-Fu
  • this is classic.

  • what the fuck happened? we had these awesome commercials, and then "wii would like to play"?

  • headbangin

  • Thats so... so... 80s.

In every damn way. Good god.

  • @bobobobo568 80s? this is about as 90s as it gets.

  • Comment removed

  • girls? what girls? i play video games all day.

  • what is the name of the song and band?

  • @markusheitmann It's: "Who was in my room last night?" by "Butthole Surfers"

  • Butthole surfers? 0_0

  • okay... they bleep out hell, but they show footage of Mortal Kombat and Beavis and Butthead... that makes no sense lol

  • 90's as fuck.

    I love it.

  • the grafitti of mario, yoshi, kirby is awesome.

  • those were the days. best nintendo commercial. Now it's the gayest f*cking system and advertising. Nintendo has sucked the cool outta of video games and their image.

  • Very 90's

  • At 0:53 is the beta version of the SNES Super Punch-Out!! Notice that the protagonist (Little Mac?) has a different look compared to his blond-haired look in the finished version. I wonder if the beta version has been dumped online or not?

  • no. The reason it got in Guitar Hero 2 is the Butthole Surfers are the best fucking band ever.

You just don't know it yet.

  • nintendo is a pretty cool guy. he xtreme markets and doesn't afraid of anything.

  • Nintendo wanted to shed their "just for kids" image to appeal to the teen market, but tried WAY too hard.

  • They actually tested this shit in focus groups with teenagers. They didn't want to come off like being old dudes trying to look cool.

    But they totally did.

  • @TBTabby Agreed Nintendo tried way too hard! I was a young teen when this came out.. I thought it was awesome and awkward at the same time. I doubt Nintendo of Japan went that route. But really Sega of America was really pegging Nintendo with the "your games are kiddy" commercials.

  • I almost pissed my pants when i heard the Butthole Surfers on a Nintendo commercial

  • The butthole surfers rule dude! give the world a wedgie!

  • Yeah world how do you like underwear pulled up your ass!!!!!!!!

  • I wonder if nintendo knew what the song was about?

  • Yeah, seriously!

  • I heard that Mario and Kirby are totally street, IS THAT TRUE?

  • Mario cleaned the plumbing in the streets and owns all the sewers in the streets. Kirby not so much. He's more like a freegan of the streets. -GD

  • Did I see a guy sitting on the toilet at 0:34, or was that just my imagination?

  • Definitely a very bathroom like setting but no pants down. After all Mario is a plumber.

    -GD

  • LOL.

  • these were the days of GOOD gaming commercials. made you actually feel cool back when gaming was still not as everywhere as it is today.

  • Not just that, but it didn't consume your life as games do now. They were fun, but you didn't need to play for hours to be satisfied.

  • very good point. i think that's why i'm still stuck in the 16/32-bit era of gaming. there's only a few 128-bit games out there that'd captivated me.

doesn't matter though - i'll always be an arcade gamer at heart - gimme a quick thrill X-D

  • I don't know what some of the other people on here are talkin' about. I thought this commercial was cool as hell back then! I would rush into the living room just to watch it when it came on! They don't make video game ads like this anymore!

  • wats that song

  • Butthole Surfers - Who Was In My Room Last Night

and the bahahaha-ing is Dust Devil. Same album

  • My xtreme youth-market advertising can beat up your ex-treem youth-market advertising!

  • lololololol im glad they actually advertise the games now instead of the consoles

  • Way cooler than the ads now

  • um... wtf

  • nnneeerrrddd!!!

  • Sorry, didn't mean to post twice.

  • more like four times

  • Sorry bout the double post. Must have hit "post comment" twice.

  • Love this commercial!!!!!! You'll never see a commercial like this from Nintendo now days.

  • Love this commercial!!!!!! You'll never see a commercial like this from Nintendo now days.

  • By the way how can anyone give the world a wedgie? o-0

  • Hello my account was hacked so the other message wasn't from me.Some douchebag stole my account to talk trash.

  • If anyone spots any hateful comment from this account please let met know.

  • go butthole surfers!

  • ...well at least it's got Butthole Surfers, right?

  • EXTREME.

    hi gaf. <3

  • lol butthole surfers FTW

  • Sega's ad campaigns were never this badass. Damn, i miss the 90's!!!

  • this is so trippy and weird lol

  • I remember loving this song so hard when I was ten or whatever. Later some friends of mine found out the band was called Butthole Surfers and that was the funniest thing we had ever heard of. I never heard of the Buttholes again until I was in my 20's.

  • Ah, I love this era. The era where, apparently, no one had ever even heard of Final Fantasy and the real FF fans dwelt. Gotta love 'em.

  • Sony fanboys should rot in hell, like swungger4life and ClockworkMage.

  • Dude this is clockworkmage,I didn't post that my current account was hacked.

  • kirby got street cred

  • Nintendo sucked back then and now??? Have you ever owned a Nintendo System? Or atleast alive at least old enough to remember the old consoles. Is your 1st system a Playstation?

  • @Panpizza15 nintendo was always awesome if fact they were so good that they ppretty much said "we dont need you sony" sony got in a bitch fit and the ps1 was ade in retaliation sony fanboys sould thank nintendo lolz

  • @neoalurcard Sony had increased the demographic of video gaming. This wouldn't have happened if Nintendo did not asked them to co develop the SNES CD add on. Therefore, Nintendo fanboys should thank Sony for having video games made more marketable and stuff.

  • @Panpizza15 no, yes, yes, no.

  • They Bleeped out Hell.

"Who the Hell was in my Bed?"

  • what song is that? i know its from guitar hero 2.

  • OMG its "Who was In My Room Last Night?" from GH2!

What does that have to do with Kids and Nintendo?

  • somehow as edgy as Sega wanted to be, i don't think they could have put Gibby Haynes in their commercial

  • The "Play It Loud" campaing makes Nintendo sound more extreme. I guess they started this campign after the ESRB has been introduced.

  • butthole surfers were a seminole indapendence band

  • Sweet, that was one of the first ads with grunge music.

  • This was before grunge, it's more metal and psychedelic, that's what they went for.

  • Yeah, it's called Punk.

  • Touche.

  • Butthole Surfers aren't punk.

  • This was my favorite Nintendo commercial from back in the day. It wasn't until I saw it here that I finally figured out who the song is by.

  • LOL

  • 90s RULED!

  • GREAT upload!

Good tags too ... I found this shit nice and easy

  • PS3's got nothing on this

  • The 90's were awesome.

  • are you kidding? the world was one giant party. if you think partying is annoying, turn down your ears. (i dunno what that means, I love the commercial and you sound like a bitch)

  • party on garth party on wayne xD

  • very 90's

  • wow...unexpected..or was it?????
