  • Oh my gosh why is this so funny

  • The music adds to it :)

  • do this instead with a fatman and a donut in front of him and same music and it will be a huge hit

  • OMG ITS CUTE

  • Fuck yes

  • yes... Yes...YES!

  • People, get over yourselves. Before you speak about how much of your precious tax money went into this, do some research. It's likely that more of your tax dollars are spent keeping the congressional gym/spa/barber shop open, and I consider THAT a massive waste of money. So just shut it, relax, dig your sense of humour out from wherever you hid it, and allow yourself to laugh at the hilarity of a shrimp on a freakin' treadmill.

  • @ChowYunSmut lol all the winging bout tax payer money lol, we all know who it goes to, Those doll bludging low life wont get off thier fat ass cause theyre lasy wankers, all of them accept those retired folks that have worked hard all of theyre life can go get fucked!

  • @ChowYunSmut OH MY GOD! THIS REALLY HAPPENED?! I HEARD ALEX JONES TALKING ABOUT THIS SHIT! THE U.S. FEDERAL PIRATE GOVERNMENT HAS GONE REALLY, LIKE I SAID PIRATE,... CORRUPT! SUPPORT AND VOTE RON PAUL 2012!!!!!!!

  • @ChowYunSmut lmao, there needs to a 'favorite' button for comments. XD

  • They've trimmed his whiskers!

  • I think you could set an execution to that music and I'd laugh. Love it! :)

  • 12 times human power

or as much as 1200 fat ass power

  • I bet the guy's name who put this shimp on the treadmill was Dr. Amoudouch , Dr. Aluminumstein, or Mrs. Dr. Patel and that no one can understand a word of the paper that this experiment lead to. It must be because it's so complex and important that no one gets it. Meanwhile, the federal government spends 137 billion dollars a year on stuff like this.

  • Your tax dollars at work.

  • @kurthanson2005 Like less than $5?

  • If complete and utter tragedy of the cost of putting a shrimp on a treadmill over 5 years ago is bothering you so much that you need to complain about it, then you are not emotionally ready for certain hardships later in life.

  • My grandpa has one shrimp treadmill but it's really the old kind and he has pet shrimps lol

  • thats 1 fast prawn...

  • this was on oops TV as a #1

  • Yeah, it was $500,000 according to UPI

  • What do you mean it didn't cost much? I believe that study cost $500,000 For that kind of money I could have put my two kids through college and still had plenty to spare.

  • I loved this. I laughed so hard until i got a cramp!!

  • Press 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 or 0 and have fuN :D

  • whirled brought me here.

  • He's in training for the space program. Next stop Mars!

  • so funny! and so adorble!!!!:D

  • We had an hour to spare in Chemistry once and my teacher showed us this and some other funny ones.! lol. It was awesome.(:

  • mmm looks delicious

  • These researchers showed that ability of shrimp to walk on a treadmill reflects multiple aspects their overall health. So this gives us is a quick way to sample shrimp health. After the BP oil spill I would think the value of this would be obvious.

  • Science, everybody! Give it a round of applause!

  • I actually logged into my youtube account just to ask if ANY of you, seriously ANY of you fucking idiots thinks it takes "millions" of dollars to do this? Way to have a good response! Wow! Wish I was that fucking cool...idiots.

  • Treadmills for shrimp: $3 million

  • Hahahah xD I LIKE that Shrimp!!!!!!

  • ...and that you all, who support this shit. no offense, just a fact. this is NOT applicable science, when the best oceanic surveyors say, the best and ONLY way to mimic animal behavior for any/all aquatic/robotic alchemy, chemistry or science is in the ACTUAL OCEAN, habitat, or place of origin! americans loving a shrimp on a treadmill that cost millions. you all need to put the fluoridated water down, wake up, grow balls, man up to the world.

  • @Cronominite1 Pwned lol

  • @Cronominite1 this experiment was one small part of a large research program which spent well under one million, don't exaggerate just to make a bigger ass of yourself. Also, fluoridated water has had absolutely nothing but beneficial effects. 100% of complaints against it are bat-shit-crazy conspiracy fearmongering. It's on part with people who thing politicians are secretly space lizards. You need to knock that shit off.

  • oh yeah no problem you all say. Shows the ignorance here....millions, yes millions of your tax payer dollars went into this and other bullshit experiments that are, in most cases, left in limbo after the distribution of front and backdoor funding. just like the wildlife reserve scams in this country! no GOV money goes in to these fake projects, yielding, what the actual experts label as, inapplicable science and a drain on resources. Anyone who favors this shit is literally a DRAIN on anything.

  • @Cronominite1 actually it's cretinous vermin like yourself who are the real drains on society :)

you see, having a populace full of reactionaries leads to regressive policy, in order to pander to this base, and education, research, and social programs are the ones who pay the cost. In conclusion, fuck yourself.

  • Run Forrest! Run!

  • Run Forest! Run!

  • Run Forrest! Run!

  • Everyone is taking this too seriously.

    It's a fucking SHRIMP on a TREADMILL.

  • He's getting exercise.

  • I'm too easily amused..

  • @blobloblo6 well that not very nice. is someone in a bad mood? God didnt they teach u when you were little if u dont hav anything nice to say dont say it at all?! Ugh!!!

  • America's economy may collapse, but I'll be damned if we stop funding this 'shrimp on a treadmill' research!! Scythemantis is dead wrong.

  • @Scythemantis Well, when you take into account that they also studied Jello wrestling and stub hub prices it is kinda strange lol... Supposedly they spent $559,681 to test this lol :)

  • lulz

  • How sad that this is what taxpayers money goes to.

  • @mya2398 Obvious troll is obvious.

  • A tredmill... For shrimp? Why?

  • shrimp: they must think im rly fat 2 spend that much tapayer moeny on me, id better cut out all the plankton in my diet.

  • How the hell can anyone complain about taxpayer money going toward this?

A shrimp running on a treadmill? It is possible to get more awesome?

  • @Yootoobpoopification yeah 3 tits

  • @Yootoobpoopification Ah, but it DID get more awesome.

    Shrimp running on treadmill=Awesome

Shrimp running on treadmill WITH Benny Hill=BI Winning!

  • and you tough you've seen already everything on the internet...

  • This was a million dollar grant. For once, I approve of this use of my money.

(It's better than researching the sex drive of squirrels... AGAIN.)

  • doen anyone know of the video with the benny hill theme and a running octopus? please reply! i cant find it!

  • I thought taxes paid for roads, schools, and goverment workers. Not shrimp on treadmills.

  • Hahahahaha. Taxes.

  • Insane but dang, did I lmao :-)

  • This is wat our tax dollars goes too.. this is fuckin bullshit.. my government care more about a shrip then the homeless

  • With the 'brazillions' of krill / shrimps in the world's oceans, don't we have here the solution to the global energy crisis? Building treadmills would make unemployment a thing of the past (don't outsource it to the developing countries this time). Train the shrimps, sit back and enjoy clean electricity..

  • Not so funny when you consider they spent millions of dollars of OUR money to do this stupid research.

  • @teslacult millions of dollars to put a shrimp on a tiny treadmill? doubt it.

  • @teslacult Actually, what they were studying the way lobsters walk so they could make a robotic lobster that can walk on the sea floor to do things like defuse underwater bombs. It was incredibly important and applicable research. You can read more about it in "The Secret Life of Lobsters".

  • $3,000,000.00 thats all? Clearly this could have been done for far more theft victom [tax payer] money.

  • @anarchylogic Please explain to us how to run a nation without taxes. We're all very eager to hear your well thought out response.

  • @Logtarthemighty Magnets....

  • @Logtarthemighty We must first define "run a Nation". But a short answer would be use fees instead of arbitrary taxation. Income, property, and death taxes are arbitrary, they are also all listed in the 10 planks of the communist manifesto. A fee for use is a much fair and indeed much eaiser form of revinue generation rather than sending out goons or forcing buisnesses to comply with 85K+ pages of regulations in the name of "running a nation. Small gov is cheep gov.

  • I bet that 3 million they used came from the 700 billion dollar bailout haha

  • only 3 mill

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepiiiiic!

  • i only watched this vid after hearing about it on cnn lols

  • being honest... this video helped me go vegetarian.

lol, anything that can use a treadmill doesn't sound like dinner to me

  • Thats our tax dollars people!

  • Repost from a similar video:

Produce a novel method for measuring the fitness of crustaceans allowing for innovative works in disease ecology - $500,000

Supply media that spawns hilarious youtube videos - Priceless

(its only 1.5*10-7 of the total federal budget anyway)

  • This is hilarious!!!!! No wonder you have so many views! How's the shrimp? Oh, I see this was made some time ago, I guess the shrimp is long gone, unless he was extra heathly from the workouts!

  • This is hilarious!!!!! No wonder you have so many views! How's the shrimp?

  • @Abeline1960 The shrimp killed itself from the shock therapy in these studys.

  • as is called the song??

  • Comment removed

  • @superdarco150 The song is called "Yakety Sax" but could also be called something similar to the "Benny Hill Theme".

  • a shrimp in every pot and a shrimp treadmill in every garage

  • Your tax dollars at work, ladies and gentlemen.

  • obama: forget about oil i wanna pet shrimp to put on a mini treadmill whilst i play the benny hill theme in the background

  • This video has been up for years, and I see idiots are still joking about money being wasted on this. It doesn't cost that much to put a shrimp on a treadmill, and recording how different animals walk and run is applicable to robotics, medicine, evolutionary science, physics and you name it. If you want money to go into something you consider more "worthy," drop a few dollars into a charity sometime instead of eating out or buying a new video game.

  • @Scythemantis THANK YOU!!!!!

  • @Scythemantis

This is pure evil. Abusing shrimps like that is pure evil. Only honkies would come up with idiotic things like this!

  • @Scythemantis it was proven to cost $3,000,000 who paid you to LIE?

  • @Scythemantis lololol no its doesnt cost that much to put stuff on a tread mill.. i can do it pretty cheaply. YET!!!! how much did we pay these people to do it??? a FUCKLOAD. It shouldn't cost much to get a hair cut yet people pay WAAAYYY to much for some.

  • @Scythemantis

Yes, it SHOULDN'T cost that much, but Obama wants to spend 3 million dollars on it. Shrimp are ment to be eaten, not for running on a conveyor belt. -_-

  • @Scythemantis ... about half a million dollars on this research

  • @Scythemantis Why are we spending $50,000-$5,000,000 on it, when it can be done for "cheap"?

It's not just a matter of money. It's also a matter of principle. A few are interested in what "might" come of this. Meanwhile, we are defaulting on loans to China and taxpayers are being forced to pay for operations they neither needed nor wanted. That is the gateway to tyranny.

Just like with a charity or a video game, if you want Shrimp on a Treadmill, use your own cash to fund it.

  • @Scythemantis

The idea that it's always okay to use someone else's money to get something done is Keynesian economics. And all it leads to is government by thugs and mob riots. Moreover, what money is left for charity if it's all taxed away?

And tell me if you can why we waste 73 million on monkey houses that have not housed monkeys in over a century? How does that benefit science or medicine?

  • @Scythemantis

Two final notes: 1) How does "for science" make it okay to squander someone else's money?

    2) Why is "for science" an acceptable excuse for anything, when every mad scientist on TV uses the same excuse?

    3) Since when are politicians experts on scientific funding?

  • @DozerfleetProd I have no problem with this.

  • Sorry, that was three questions.

  • @Scythemantis This "type" of spending is still going on.

  • @wsmith1213 Good. It's valuable to the scientific community and the scientific community is the only thing of value to civilization in the long run.

  • @Scythemantis sure $500,000 isnt a lot of money

  • @MrSuperjerk100 This study didn't even come close to costing $500,000. That's just some bullshit that senator Tom Coburn made up, and which a lot of anti-intellectual institutes fell for. Those $500,000 were spread across MANY studies done on economically important seafood species. The treadmill study itself provided amazing value for its price, considering how cheap it was and how much we learned from it.

  • @Scythemantis Yeah! It takes about 5 dollars to buy the shrimp, and another fifty or so for the treadmill!

PURE AWESOMENESS WAS NEVER SO CHEAP!!

  • @Scythemantis .......the federal government isn't supposed to a charity.

  • @piperfect Money spent on science isn't charity, it's progress. Science sustains civilization and deserves 100% support in all of its endeavors large and small. The rest of mankind can crumble away and bomb itself to smithereens, but our scientific knowledge is the only thing ultimately worth preservation.

  • at least it's cheaper than Sarah Palin's bridge to nowhere lol

  • shrimp running on a treadmill: because sometimes scientists want to have fun

  • Wow. The top commenter and 63 people are so fucking far gone...

  • very funny on the floor laughing

  • whats the point of this?
