@teemad Yo, I don't know where yall cats is from but as far as I'm concerned these djs, from other parts of the globe, developed their "underground" style from a New York aesthetic. Their education of funk, soul an uptempo R&B is based on the records we played and made popular back then. They have some of those records! I go Back to Larry Levan Paradise Garage and Mom Duke was in 54 on the reg! Chicago know the deal too! YOU ARE NOT A DJ IF YOU DON'T HAVE"LOVE IS THE MESSAGE" IN THE MILK CRATE
@jhou1986 Yeah and in response to what I said a second ago, you are a slouch, talkin' all this shit about my music, and you don't know this stuff!!!!!!!!!
An article in Science of January 1999 found that this song increased accidental birth rates for a subset of the European population traveling to Ibiza during the summer of 1998.
Why the f**k are people saying Bob and Daft Punk defined the French sound. They didn't. They were far better than the rest of the s**t that you can't really say they "defined" the French sound. That's an insult to the best French artists, not just Bob and Daft Punk. Even though they are far different now to what they would and should have been if they had continued on the path they were on back then.
@teemad I think they mean define French song of this gender mostly, I don't think they were saying that they are the best French artist ever. Singer like Brel (somehow french), lama, barbara and many other of course define an other part of French song, but that is way more "french", and therefore less international
Pffef, this is SO FUCKING TRUE :P. It's because making mainstream music is more profitable I think, can't blame him for that but I think he doesn't even like his own music anymore with a lot of people with over-mastered voices screaming through his tunes.
@bodhid You are absolutely right my friend! His sound now is way too cheesy. He has definitely lost his way. This track in particular did define the French House sound that I still love. STAY HOUSE!!
@sjtToo Funny "bitch" cause I was there when Honework was released and Homework, whilst brilliant didn't define the French sound of that ERA anymore than this does in isolation. It defines that period you twonk, along with all the other artists of that time be it Motorbass, Cassius, Super Discount etc etc. However, it was one of the albums that created the French Touch sound. Fuck of back to masturbating.
@bodhid agree on that. Daft Punk might have made french house famous around the world (and are one of the most respected musicians in history of house music), but its also true there are also some artists that contributed by bringing the 70s vibes to the new house era. so bad most of them arent recognized as much as Daft Punk.
@bodhid salut, ce sont est mortel, classqie des 90s 2000s ;;; ca me rappelle mes années houses de l epoque , genre quand j allais a ibiza, et au soiréé house bien pepere de paris ... qu de souvenirs jte jure ...
Come back to the underground Bob!...we need you.
