What's being compared here? The skylines? Shanghai is taller and has cool, futuristic looking buildings, but NYC's skyline looks better as a whole in my opinion. A better comparison would have been NYC and Hong Kong.

@TBird4490 i lived in beijing for a year, and from the guys from the usa that i met, according to them the street pollution is way more under control in china. what i mean is rubbish on the street, dog poo, graffiti etc. the chinese take pride in their cities to the point where they volunteer to clean the streets. air pollution is higher, there were some days where i had to wear a scarf around my mouth to breathe, but generally i think there were more clear days than smog days.

@TBird4490 Living in Shanghai Xuhui District for almost three years now. Rarely seen a blue sky, only during the World Expo it was relatively clean. Also travelled inland by train, was hoping to see some beautiful scenery along the way, but all I saw was a dirty sky. Man, you should see Wuhan lol, but I think it's everywhere in China. I just joke about it now and then, but it's not really something that bothers me. Overall, Shanghai is an awesome place to live.

Huge factories inventing and creating new things. NYC is dying the shadow of its own history. That's why there is nothing in the air.
