very cool, if only the live action version will live up to the fans expectations. but it won't. i managed to get my hands on one of the drafts and it's a little hit and miss, it's closer to the original manga in some ways but the idea of Neo-Nokyo built in New York doesn't feel right, plus they renamed Tetsuo Travis?

Great, but iam really afraid for the live action movie. The Hollywood Remake will suck ass if they make it like always. I mean Hollywood try to get Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield and Robert "Iam a pussy Vampire" Pattinson als Tesuo. Sometimes i think they want us to hate those movies bevor they even came out.

Not Dragonball. That was written by the original authors and directed by a Japanese person. In fact most of the goofy anime films have been made in Japan!

Actually the studio was wholly owned by M. Knight Shamalon, an Indian (I think), but he's technically an American I guess XD

It was more an example of what happens when the director is also the writer and has unlimited funding.

@bloodrunsclear You're right.When I saw this, it was literally five seconds after watching a few casting ideas for Kaneda and Tetsuo.Robert Pattinson is a pretty decent actor, and might bring in a larger range of new fans for Akira(if he gets casted)but it will also mean that a lot of diehard Pattinson fans will be at the theatre squealing everytime he's on screen.I'd love to see what live-action could do with Akira(especially the hallucinations of Tetsuo) and I'd love to see it in the theatre.

@bloodrunsclear I figured that was the reason, but I honestly don't remember there being neon-lined bikes in Akira. They may be similar in shape, and the fact that they leave a trail light, but they just seem rather.... big. Oh well. Your trailer, not mine, and your work is just as great as ever!
