he was destined for the part from the day he was born. everything in restrospect was pointing towards it... even down to the shot of the Doctor Who museum behind him in Blackpool! =D
also something else that pointed towards it is in a vadio times advert it showed a doctor whho radio times (before he became the doctor) next to a casanover one!

If his life was a television show, we would all be on the David Tennant forums carefully plotting out the clues hidden in the eps to figure out the season finale--which of course would be him getting the role of the Doctor. At least, that is what I do now for Doctor Who!
Dayum. David is a boss at voice acting. The scream at the end was so poorly done yet so very convincing...
