  • stupidity is propotional to the damage inflicted on oneself!

  • laura! LAURA! get the duck tape! hurry!!

  • stupid effin rednecks why not use something a wee bit less volatile huh?? like diesel or kerosene

  • @jimmythekiddd

    Or straw...

  • stupid effin rednecks

  • We saw this in my Fire Tech class today

  • omg he's lucky to survive

  • only in america.....

  • ROTFL!!! Hahahahahaha!! When I first saw this it was like during the first few yrs of me getting high! When I say this sh!t had the whole room rollin on the floor laughing! Watching it now brings tears to my eyes!! Ahh great memorable moments! Great post

  • "Honey, how was your day at work?"

    "..."

  • yea there is no freaking way he is a firefighter

  • you dont want him comming to save you in a fire !! he will throw fuel on instead of water..his excuse looks the same in the can

  • what an plonker

  • I assume as a firefighter he knew the volatility of petrol, so what did he expect?

Why not use slow burning diesel fuel, just as effective.

In any case, why not torch the thing while your in the other boat alongside, or remotely (fuse of some kind, whatever).

Firefighting clothing would be like swimming with an anvil

  • what a tool, doesnt he know petrol explodes

  • Comment removed

  • holy sh.....

  • OMG!!!

  • OMG I can't believe his alive!

  • That is why you never use gas for a traning fire. Other slower fules should be used. When will departments learn this. He was lucky others have not been that lucky and all of them have been gas. They need to learn for others.

  • Fucken BANG!!

  • What happened was he let the gasoline set for too long and the fumes that came from it caused an explosion.

  • is this dopey or what

  • what is the firefighters name?

  • Charles Davey

  • Im not surprised he survived without major damages, it's just flames that lasted for like 0,5 seconds.

Flames burns very slow (compared with other explosives) and many hundreds times slower than for example dynamite.

  • Damn he's lucky his scba tank didnt rupture

  • That's not a scuba tank. It's an O2 tank that is designed to be in close courters with fire. That fire was probably about 800 degrees F for under a second, burning buildings are 6,000+ degrees and your in there for 15 minutes or more.

  • I didn't mean scuba, S-C-B-A tanks are fireman issue fiber-aluminum composite tanks. SCBA stands for self contained breathing apparatus. I used to hydostatic pressure test these tanks at my last job. You do have a point about the temperature, i was just concerned about the blast and shrapnel.

These style tanks are incredibly strong actually, they are tested to 7500 psi.

Scuba diving tanks are generally only tested to 5000.

  • first off, fires in a burning building DO NOT generally reach 6000 degrees.. steel fails at 1000 degress, if a fire was 6000 degress for 15 minutes as you say, the entire structure would just melt to the freaking ground... good try tho.. an its and SCBA (not an oxygen tank, its not pure oxygen, just compressed air) dumb

  • Have you ever been in a building that's burning? Have you ever been in a burning building that has highly flamible (sry for spelling i'm tired and my brain isn't all the way on right now) stored it in? Did I say it was an pure O2 tank? No I didn't. Don't be an ass.

  • what does me having been in a burning building have to do with anything?? haha you said it was an O2 tank, it is not.. then you said fires are 6000+ degrees, THEY ARE NOT.. jet fuel, one of the most highly flammable substances burns at 1000 degrees F.. and that isn't stored in buildings.. soo get ur facts straight, i am not being an ass, just pointing out the truth thats all.. you were right when you pointed out the fact that it wasnt a scuba tank at least (great job sherlock) :p

  • You are calling me an idiot therefore you are being an ass. Fires don't burn at 6000+ degrees, the temp that is being held in the a room can exceed 6k degrees. I didn't say it was a PURE O2 tank. The fire that a blacksmith works with is 3k degrees. If you want to argue about the 6k degrees go argue with the discovery channel, they are the ones that said it was 6k degrees near the ceiling. When I'm in a fire i know it's hot and that i want to get the job done and get out that's all.

  • That must have been Jesus incarnate, because no mortal man can survive that

  • how is he still alive?

    Lucky bastard

  • You would be amazed what fire turnout gear that surprisingly is designed to repel fire can stand... Even that half second flash.

  • What's amazing is that there were a lot of people who probably thought this was a completely normal thing to do. What the hell was he expecting to do once the boat was on fire?

  • Self owned.

  • he he lol

    what a fucking idiot
