What are the advantages of shooting in 24p on the HG20? I know its supposed to give it a cinematic feel, but what does that do in terms of movement? I have a sample video i took in 24p with the HG20.
I compress my file in DVCPRO HD 1080i 24p (i think?) and then i convert it to an MP4.... But i mess with the MP4 so it keeps the progressive frame rate. It works well for me
Not true. HG10 shoots in 1440X1080. HG20 shoots in 1920X1080. True 1080P. Even comparing the videos on youtube shot with each camera you can see the differance. Go with the HG20.

it saves in avchd which most computer's don't recognize. you'll have to get a conversion software that changed the file into a acceptable file.

it's a .mts file. Adobe CS4 recognizes it. This camera has such rich color. I love it.

I'm not sure if it has a night mode or not. I do know that night mode will be quite grainy with or without HD.
The song is a random youtube song that was put over my original video sounds.

I absolutely HATE HATE HATE running cinema mode and 24p on this camera.
When I upload it to youtube, its so choppy.
My favorite setting is 30p on portrait mode. It gives the best platback on youtube AND watching it at home via hdmi

There's no picture difference in the 10 vs 20......only hard drive capacity

I have viewed lots of canon hg 20 vidoes and yours is one of the clearest yet.
I guess it is all in the software and the know how putting it on youtube

The video is show at 30 fps on the HIGHEST setting. So vid quality is def. better.
In my other videos with lower settings, quality and flow of movement is not as good.
