SUP's are the future. I know this surf shop in Hawaii who was approached by the SUP dealer. The surf shop owner said "Nah, SUP's are just a fad that will fade away" This was 2 years ago. Today, there are more SUP's than longboards in the lineup and this shop owner has lost lots of business for being that stubborn.

Cool. SUP's are the future. Once you made it to the lineup, you can chase all kinds of shifting waves, without having to battle the currents. But in Ocean Beach, it's a pain beating the shorebreak with a SUP, when the wave intervals are 4 to 5 seconds

It's a blast and our styles are getting better. There are some great SUPers out there with great styles. Keep looking on Youtube, you'll find some.

Well, then what would you call it? It sure looks like surfing. It even has the word surfing in it's description.

It's definitely riskier than surfing too. Have you ever been pounded by a 15ft wave with a 12 foot board attached to your ankle. Some of the greatest surfers known are SUPing the biggest waves ever. You've seen it all over Youtube haven't you?

Considering the fact that there were no surfers in sight, why would we get any flack? Actually, there was one surfer and we got along just fine.
