I have one word for this scene...SHIVERS! I get them and start crying every time I watch it. Meredith annoys me sometimes, but this is one of the few times that I actually really like her - I am right there with her with the realisation that it is George and I can't catch my breath. I think this is best episode of Grey's ever!

The last 3 minutes of that clip was probably one of the most powerful moments in Grey's Anatomy I've ever seen. Especially when they put the ending screen on, just before she is revived. The music is incredible, and it always has been, and I think thats one of the strongest parts of Grey's Anatomy is its choices of music. Excellent show.

When I first watched this it didn't really come through to me, I was confused. But if you listen it kills me, with the music and them saying "We're loosing him." It's sad, and when she looks at the buttons she knows shes coming back, but George isn't. And there's nothing she can do about it. Which means Izzie lost her best friend. :'(

The last bit of this episode was so incredible and emotional and I'd could honestly say it has been Grey's best season finale. Especially the elevator scene, when Izzie remains in the elevator, and George is already out. Unfortunately though, I believe Grey's has never been the same. I think it started to lose its incredible drama at the end of Season 3, and I think this is the last episode it had such a dramatic and impressive impact on the audience.

@MrJordanAz2 i agree 100% after season 5 the series went down hill. Im currently on season 7 and i noticed when i began season 6 i didn't get nearly as much excitement as i did watching the previous seasons unfortunately. I'm on episode 6 right now, hopefully it will get better.

I LOVE the unspoken Izzie and George's elevator moment. When she looks away & then back at George like "I can't stay here..." & George looks at Izzie like "Don't leave me." that's when my tears go into overdrive. They were the best, their frienship was so fantastic...but what I loved was that George was the glue and Izzie was the heart of the well-oiled Grey's Anatomy machine and in this single moment, the magic was lost. I think its why it gets us emotional. I try to watch now, but its changed

They really should have killed off both Izzie and George at the same time. It would have made Katherine's exit so much better. The whole Izzie leaving Alex thing really did not play in at all with Izzie's character it was just a quick fix for her and the writers to get her out quickly and was poorly written with no closure. If anything it made Izzie look like a total bitch in the end.
