For me, it's not like this "nudity" things makes anything wrong. But it is kinda of unexpected, because in canonical and non-canonical drawings, Alice is always portrait wearing very elaborated dresses. So, it is just a little bit strange looking at the ending animation breaking that pattern.

They are "like" twins in a literal way. But certainly Jack pointed that Alice behaves as other person at times, liking the complete opposite of the other, in a flashback. Also, the say Alice mentions it in the same flashback.

I'd still like to put my bet in that the "Intention of the Abyss" (official) is the "good side" being corrupted, and "Alice" is the "bad side" who seeks redemption. As there are very slight indication that might make it possible. But that's just me. ¬ . ¬

I think you should more specific. I can believe that from the nudity in Elfen Lied's OP animation. In the show and the Manga, there are SOME (NOT ALL moments) when the "nudity" moments were totally unnecessary and contributed nothing to the atmosphere and/or development of the story.

By certain consensus in the term and implications, the moments described above may be consider "fanservice".

In this case, Alice "nudity" does not seems to contribute to anything. So, for what sake is it there?

Even for fanservice, Lotty and Echo do more in what "fanservice" is. And besides some "fillers" minutes, I don't see how it differs from the manga at all.

I think she's both "cute" and "cool" character. She seems at first sight to be inconsistent with her emotions. But the fact is that she is constantly showing her honest feelings about any situation. More than the rest of the cast, who tend to hide things from each other.
