I remember seeing this on the BBc Arena Heavy Metal Special in 1989. My Mates dad said Lee Dorian(the vocalist) should be put down, christ we were rolling arouind the floor in our Poison t-shirts pissing ourselves laughing. Little did I know that in later years I would become a Napalm fan and I actually saw them live in Telford and stagedived to this very song Scum! And the stage-diving was good!!!

This is what all music should aspire to. Something that really gets the adrenaline levels peaking out, like you just want to explode with energy. Music is mostly about pleasure and inducing relaxation. Napalm death turned it around (before barney) and made us all release energy then relax, much like an orgasm.

Edgehead, he switched styles when he went on to form cathedral. I came to cathedral late and was shocked it was the same guy, as I had the opposite reaction (eg, 'holy crap, dorian can sing!').

As to the person who was querying the "a new branch of metal" tag, well, given that the Death named grindcore as a genre I think you can take that as proof enough. In truth there were quite a few bands around at the time working in the same vein; ENT, Carcass, even the Electrohippies.
