I don't give a fuck, if ND are the inventors of grind or gods to some of you...their vocalist in this performance just sucks balls! So freakin' bad....gladfully, he got better over the years.
Without a doubt the best Skins episode so far. Napalm Death features heavily in the episode, with even "You Suffer" appearing at one point (the band are even playing live in one scene!), and bands like Kyuss and SLAYERRRR \m/ are on the soundtrack. A great one for metalheads everywhere!
@Censorships4Cowards thats not true... theyre not overrated... theyre like the first grindcore band ever and every other is just copy (besides all the 80s grindcore bands)
Did he even memorize the lyrics, or just grunt at the right times?
I'd love to be in a grindcore band just to do that. I'm sure squealcore bands (my term for deathcore, etc. bands that use only pig squeals) do the same thing, but just suck more than grindcore.
I remember seeing this on the BBc Arena Heavy Metal Special in 1989. My Mates dad said Lee Dorian(the vocalist) should be put down, christ we were rolling arouind the floor in our Poison t-shirts pissing ourselves laughing. Little did I know that in later years I would become a Napalm fan and I actually saw them live in Telford and stagedived to this very song Scum! And the stage-diving was good!!!
phelps, you're brainwashed idiot, you believe all that only because your father did and his father etc. because of that religion you've lost chance for normal life, because of one maniac
Mark Greenway is going to Hell. This piss-poor excuse for a human has no chance of redemption; the reason being that he committed the unpardonable sin, which is known as the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. If you read the lyrics to his song "When All is Said and Done," he attributes the intrinsic spiritual aims of religion - which is unity with the Lord - to evil/Satan. That's the unpardonable sin; look it up.
Mark Greenway's music is pretty good and I like it, but, alas, he will burn in Hell.
Nice to see the old school again.I may not like this bands music too much, but i guess scum is better than all the grindcore/metalcore shit out there today, like dying fetus and job for a fuckboy.
He's singing but not annunciating the lyrics.....duh. Hate people like you, is music all bout lyrics these days not about the sound they make and if you think Napalm Death is all about noise listen to Smear Campaign. Listen to the music that suits you....i don't go round hatting on your bands do i?
This is what all music should aspire to. Something that really gets the adrenaline levels peaking out, like you just want to explode with energy. Music is mostly about pleasure and inducing relaxation. Napalm death turned it around (before barney) and made us all release energy then relax, much like an orgasm.
i dont think the song sucks but the guy singing...lol wait singing HE IS JUST SCREAMING omg he sucks so hard. I know its hard to make those noises but still looks like bears fucking.
Edgehead, he switched styles when he went on to form cathedral. I came to cathedral late and was shocked it was the same guy, as I had the opposite reaction (eg, 'holy crap, dorian can sing!').
As to the person who was querying the "a new branch of metal" tag, well, given that the Death named grindcore as a genre I think you can take that as proof enough. In truth there were quite a few bands around at the time working in the same vein; ENT, Carcass, even the Electrohippies.
I know they have - I was a fan back in the mid 80's. I referred to this as looking back at a moment in music History! This is where it all began for death metal etc. Cool!
Hey I was at this gig, it was at University of London Union and I watched from atop the left speaker stack. My leg appeared in a photograph in NME hanging down off the speaker behind the singer. The tickets were only three pounds and I had to buy one off a tout for a tenner - bastard. All those years ago, now I am old. Shit.
Man - this is awesome! Isn't it amazing to see Bill Steer, Shane Emburry, Lee Dorian and Mick Harris in the one band! That's members of Carcass, Cathedral and Scorn all in one band (although as we all know this was pre all those bands)! The old Earache days were the ultimate!
Actually, Lee Dorrian joined Cathedral after he left Napalm Death. ND do have a connection with Terrorizer - Jesse Pintado - but he wasn't in the band when this video was shot.
Napalm Death is Lee Dorrian! Dont get me wrong Barney (i dont like his stupid nickname) is talented too but dorrian is way better!
