@Majorasword64 In 4P mode the other three players have the option to play as Kirby's friends, or as the different colored Kirbies. If you're just asking if there's a reason why there are three Kirbies, not sure. First time I played a game with them was Amazing Mirror for the GBA

You know if everyone gets first in the end mini-game, everyone get's a 1-up and maxim tomato, any other number everyone gets double points and a maxim. so if everyone gets 2, then everyone will get 30 star points and a maxim.
