You people are so idiotic. Better tomorrow? Are you kidding? Shoes cause horrible health problems both long term and short term. You people are paying for these kids to develop arthritis, fallen arches, hammer toes, foot fungus, blisters, infections, IS THAT A BETTER TOMORROW?
Being barefoot is healthy, safe, natural, and FREE
@ashleyjoxo Blake clearly says in this video that TOMS is a for-profit business (Friends of TOMS is the non-profit arm that coordinates the shoe drops around the world). TOMS classifies more as a social enterprise, where their mission statement is about sustainably (ie profitably) helping benefit less-fortunate around the world.
@ashleyjoxo TOMS is a business with a genius business model, one that allows the makers of the shoes to profit greatly, help the needy, and provide a quality product to consumers. Anyone that has purchased a pair of TOMS knows that they are indeed quality shoes. This is such an amazing business model because of the fact that it is sustainable, not relying on donations to continue to operate. Children in need will continue to receive these shoes as long as the TOMS company exists.
@ashleyjoxo People cant work for free so of course Blake has to sell shoes above cost. That markup allows him to pay for making shoes, transporting shoes, transporting him and his crew, renting the warehouse, paying the bills and paying a salary to those who work for him. Do you expect people to work for no wage? Everyone needs to make money in order to live in this country. If you dont want to buy his shoes then you dont have to, just like you dont have to give money to charity.
@Causecast I really do like this movement.. im currently doing my senior project over his movement, Im trying to educate my community about it to give him and his movement alot more support....!!!
@loyaltotheoneilove Perhaps you should reconsider that project. TOMS is doing far more harm than good. Shoes cause a myriad of health problems later in life. Dont pay TOMS to give kids in need health problems later in life
Blake was a key speaker at a breakfast I attended this morning. Both his passion and company display an amazing level of authenticity. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed, moved and inspired all at once... Wow!
definitely shows you how easy it is do to something that makes a huge impact, whether it be in the community you live in... or a small town in south america.
Funny guy. The idea's so brilliant because of its simplicity, and the shoes are really cool, too. Best yet, it's completely scalable- works just as well locally as globally.
i am so happy :) then why do we need to buy them??? :P jkkkk

What a great idea! I agree, I'd love to see more businesses adopt a charitable business model. Yay Toms shoes!
