  • i've subscribed just based on this video alone. I'm an artist too. I hear you. Believe me. I hear you. This video really made me chuckle! cheers for that! :)

  • lol soooooooooooooo funny =D

  • Pssssst (stop blurring your pencil drawings to oblivion!!!!)

  • Funky video. I'm a painter/sculptor and agree with you... to an extent ;-)

What you're really getting at is the idea of Post-Modernism; basically it says that all painting is itself an abstract concept, so all paintings must therefore be abstract (actually it says a bit more than that but never mind for now). Although it's not the fault of the artist, only the fools who think they 'know' about art and waste their money on shit. Good art always shines through though in the end!

  • hahah nice nails for a guy.....lolz

  • hahah really made me laugh and its interesting too nice twist at the end.

  • hahah you look funny when you're a guy..... Couse you are a girl... RIGHT??:O

  • I took art all through high school and this video is soooo true! I love painting, and I dont understand how people get away with stuff like that. Like if some idiot nails a piece of string to a wall and makes up some crap about the emotion and the story behind it, and someone buys it for $1000! I dont understand people.... I really dont lol.

  • Hahaha!

OMG, this is so freakin funny.

Although, when the guy sat down to paint, I noticed he had painted nails and was like, "Whaaaaat?" :/

    Anyway, that was cool!

  • LOL ... nice little commentary on modern art. Here in Denmark we had an artist who got away with selling pooh on tin cans for a very large sum of money. And a couple of years ago the museum which now owns this amazing piece of shitty art (pun intended), had to spend 30.000 pounds on mending these cans, because they were about to explode from all gasses inside. ... Sometimes I really don't get what's art what's not.

  • IArt is a selective re-creation of reality according to an artists metaphysical value-judgments. Mans profound need of art lies in the fact that his cognitive faculty is conceptual, i.e., that he acquires knowledge by means of abstractions, and needs the power to bring his widest metaphysical abstractions into his immediate, perceptual awareness. ~ Ayn Rand

  • Haha this is awesome!

I spend days at a time working on my realistic portraits, and am always amazed (and slightly irritated) when people tell me how much they love the crappy, two minute crayon scribbles I've done even more!

  • the beard looks so real

  • haha great!

  • damn true

  • I love this!!!

  • cool

  • Not to be creepy but will you be my boyfriend? xD Keep the bird poo away from me though! xD Anyway, just wanted to ask, you did this in iMovie, yes? Were the sound effects included or did you get them somewhere else? I haven't explored iMovie yet!

  • Haha:) That cracked me up:) Yes I made this in iMovie and they give you a whole load of sound effects to use:)

  • Ahahahahaa!!! This was SO awesome, when the 'poop' fell down and you were like WHAT?! I just had to burst out laughing... actually, on so many other parts too! xD Oh hey... not to sound creepy but... you make a VERY attractive man... and very familiar too but I can't place it. Seriously. I loved the fainting part too xD This video is AWESOME on so many levels! And you're an awesome actor ^_^

  • lol. :D i feel the same way. i got in trouble in art class for not being "artisticly creative" enough. and i got so mad i threw my dirty paint brushes at a blank canvase. my teacher gave me an A+ and some creeper bought it for $8,000 !

  • Whats 500,000 pounds in american

  • 805.900 us dollars

  • great job in the video! hilarious!

  • I disagree, art is for the most part a creative representation of the time we are living in, it is in progress.Realistic drawn portraits can be beautiful, but the craft in itself is not enough to make it a good work. You could also take a picture. It is your personal signature that makes it different. Duchamp's urinal was a work that could only be made once. It was a statement to make people think about what was going on in art, the kickstart for discussions we still have today.

  • i know what you mean, i have been studying jewelry design for 2 years now, and the first time i went to one of the events of my school, they were giving awards for the best designs, i worked really hard in making really classic, elegant and feminine jewelry with gemstones and silver, and in the end the winner was someone who made a necklace with just melted silver with bubbles and holes and pointy parts that wasnt even safe to wear!

  • Ha ha! Klaire is awesome! That's all that needs to be said.

    Cheers, Kate

  • jajaj Funny love it

  • This is EXACTLY how I feel right now. But I'll keep on doing what I'm doing since it's my art and no one else's.

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I totally agree! What are people thinking?!!!!! I write poetry and entered a contest once, my piece made it to the top ten but was beaten by some weirdo that wrote a poem called, "Sex With a Trumpet"? What?! HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • lol funny!!! art in the eye of the beholder! right?

  • Totally agree!!!!!!!!

  • You have no idea how much I agree... I was part of an art gallery (as a 'photographer', but that's a whole 'nother deal), where the most unimaginative, bland and downright awfully-executed piece won, seemingly because it was the biggest. It was ridiculous. This video's awesome, I'll definitely pass it along. :) Glad to see your sense of humor, too!

  • I agree with this a million times over! So true, art is going to shits now

  • you DO make a hot guy!! ^_^ hehehe. love the video :)

  • your a really good acter!!!

you should do more of these!!!

  • gosh.

  • You're good looking guy! jeje

  • i ALSO have that football mug!! i think mine came free with some cereal or something..? i agree haha!! it must be very frustrating for real artists !

  • Nice beard lol

  • that is really GOOD SHIT !!!

    excellent video.

  • That was pretty good. This was something very different from you.

  • The facts are disturbing,

    love the video though :D

  • i have the same mug Klaire!!!! btw, how did u make ur beard so realistic lookin?? =D

  • OMG this is sooo true!!! Loads of my friends are artists and they ALL think this!!!

FINALLY someone who just said what everyone else is thinking!!!

Heck I'm sending this to everyone i know!!

  • Excellent!

  • Hahaha brilliant!

  • hahaha

    =D

  • This is great critisism. I'm a painter myself and I forgot about living on it when I saw it was not a matter of how or what you painted, but more about how you sell yourself.

  • heh heh, liked this a lot!

  • Amazing video :-))))

  • You have a great sense of humor. Also you are talented in acting LOL

  • you put what i have been thinking about modern art for years into this video. BRILLIANT!

  • my bahdd never mind i hadnt relixed that was a lady!

  • is he gayy? why he have fake nail'sx ??

  • So true

  • LOL!

And BTW I have the same laptop as you :D

  • Hilarious!!!

  • i think this video was awesome!! and if i could figure out how to get over like this i probably would. maybe the art isn't the piece maybe it's the art of the scam. don't forget those canned poops (it might have also been duchamp who did that as well)

  • as a struggling artist i DO think that some artists ARE having a laugh and some of us that are well good and trained just cannot get ahead because these folks are too busy making money off of suckers taken in by their "art"

    but whateva

  • i agree in some cases. however i must say i admire those artists who create these pieces that cause such controversy. 'the unmade bed' for example, who thought that could be a piece of art, but the fact is nobody else did it!

  • wow but bravo 4 the how funny this video is

  • I seriously agree with you. I am going to a school in London right now on exchange and I must say that a lot of the stuff I am seeing is total crap. Beds, urinals, sharks, and embroidering tents. So this is what art has come too >:-(.

  • I totally agree,Klaire...

  • brilliant.. maybe i should sell my unmade bed too!!

  • sad thing is you do have a point, haha xx

  • so much of "modern art" isnt art at all, its just crap. :| so this video was a much needed truth!

  • lol the facial hair, looks so realistic but at the same time, like a young boy's beard, haha x

  • amazing dear i totally agree wid you on this...modern art has gt only modern left in it..no art...

  • Hahaha.

  • Wow, your beard look sooo real - amazing =)

Maybe you have a dark secret? xD

  • Haha:) I cant tell you how many times I've been mistaken for a young boy:)

  • Don't worry - it happend to me too ;-)

  • lmao!!!!!

  • it took me ages to understand the title

  • Haha loved this video!

  • lol...this was too funny!

  • lol tht reminds me of that disney show with the twins on the boat.!!!

  • HAHAH !

too true. i do sometimes get disappointed at the artwork i see in galleries.

it's like 'how on earth did that manage to get here?'

  • LOL!!! Amen! You are so talented and creative, and yes, so much of "modern, abstract" art is, well, crap! I too have spent many years trying to hone my talent. Keep moving forward.

  • it's fantastic!!!! lol =)

  • lmao!

  • Love it! Hilarious

  • LOL ... u r the best ..
