  • nice~looks like real Saix

  • @QuintusKing This was one of our first ones, so the color is a bit dark for him (especially compared to our newer Saix wig) - still, the spiking was pretty well thought-out here.

  • Epic win T^T

Did you style it all yourself?! :D

  • @xSakuraKurox

This was our first wig that we styled for someone other than ourselves, so yes. (We have a much more recent Saix wig video up, too.)

  • ;< the netting is showing, I'd add a few wefts..

  • @kkdakat

Actually it isn't in this case, this was one super-thick wig to start with prior to any styling. I think what you're seeing is the crimped base of the wig strands themselves...it's what gives the wig it's lofting strength. (And in any case, the customer did not pay for additional wefting on this wig, so we have to abide by the specifics of their request.)

  • OMG i want one!

  • That looks more like a blue axel

  • @Crazychickperson

Wow, this sure would be a wacky Axel. >XD But we *wish* Axel wigs were more fun to make like Saix ones are.

  • thankx ^ ^

  • lol, i have the same zebra bedspread thing! ;|

  • @balloonpop432

That's actually just some fleece, I think. (We weren't very organized at first with these wig spin-around videos to have a dedicated camera spot, so I was just trying to make the background look the least distracting.)

  • ughghghgh im not looking forward to styling my XL punky wig :P

  • @iHeartlessNobody

Punky wigs are actually pretty nice to work with. Just make sure you have a wig head firmly attached to some kind of stick/pole in a weighted base so that you'll be able to rotate it at all angles safely.

  • I'm cosplaying Saix at Anime Expo of this year I'm looking for a wig and I stumbled onto this video and I love the wig. I'm just not sure how I do anything over the web like commisions and such. I'm new to this.

  • @CherryBlossomTenshi

Our commission slots are actually totally booked right now, but we normally schedule them via our website provided in the caption. But since it's for this year, you might want to check out the Marketplace at Cosplay(dot)com for other wig stylists who have time before AX.

  • cool hair u did it very nice and how did u make the spikes so steddy and fresh

  • Each area to be spiked is sectioned off before-hand, and Got-2-B-Glued individually. While each section dries (one at a time), the wig head (which is mounted to a post) is tilted at an angle so the spike is exactly perpendicular to the ground for gravity to help and clamped lightly together at the tip until the hair sets. When that spike is done, the next spike is then gelled up, and the process repeats.

  • @elsalbaje305

Clamps, weights and gravity...plus a lot of drying time. ^_-

  • NICEEE

  • Can you please tell me where you buy your wigs from? ^_^

  • Nevermind. I see the website. ^_^

  • Awesome!

  • Hi very nicely done, how did you get the spikes to stay up so nicely? my friend is cosplaying as ryoko at fanime can 09 this year and shes asked me to style her a ryoko wig.

  • We didn't document the making of Saix very well, to be honest. ^_^; But the same technique for his spikes are the same as for the Anti-Sora wig.

  • Right...and I forgot youtube stupidly doesn't allow links even in your own comments on your own vids....well, go to cosplay(dot)com and search for Saeru's thread #112871 for the wig-styling tutorial

  • I also just included it in the video's caption up at the top right of this page.

  • quite amazing!!
