Moyers is an American citizen and has the right to share his points of views and his perceptions of the American political landscape. People who spill hate by attacking individuals instead of providing intellectual dialogue are hurting the country and not helping it. It is the narrow minded who are contributing to the demise of America. It is journalists like Moyers who keeps America in balance and speaks the voice of the American.

His reasoning for fighting so hard in Vietnam was that the congressional committees were all chaired by conservative Southern Democrats. They were going to throw out his progressive reforms, like Civil Rights and the War on Poverty, unless he proved he was tough on Communism (Code words for wanting massive military expenditures which appear as pork in their districts). Johnson was in a Catch 22 situation. That's what's so tragic about his presidency.
