The movie plot was absolutely boring as they turned a good character, with a big fan background and even good histories in the comic into a plain character. It's a shame this movie was a pity and, i guess, a box office fail because of this DC killed her in the crisis on infinite lands. It doesn't matter in the comic, but imagine you was a young boy and someone kills your sexual mith of your youth, how would you feel?

Slater's performance is a tad too gentle and willowy to really feel like the somewhat brash and impulsive Kara Zor-El of the comics, but she looks EXACTLY like the character, to a degree that's almost creepy (also, hot), and does a pretty good job making her powers believable. Too bad the film got gutted by 25 minutes for its American release, and feature freaking Faye Duanway as the villain... Why not the Silver Banshee, or another villain associated with Supergirl? Why some random witch?

i think this would be a good movie to place between superman 4 and superman returns....reason is at the start when selena (supergirls nemisis) finds the omegahedron, she uses it to start her car and the radio pops on. the radio states that superman has left on a mission to another galaxy bilions of light years away. in superman returns he was on a mission to see if any of krypton was left and being that it took him 5 years to return...seem to me it was probably billions of years away!
