The beautiful thing about this band is that they are so unpretentious. I could see them playing at a bar, a house party, a club, or even a frat house and still have a fucking awesome time. Titus Andronicus Forever.

For me, the reason that I love love love this band (theyve even replaced the Pogues as my favourite band - sorry Shane) is the disparity between what he's singing and how he's singing it. Patrick doesnt write songs, he writes existentialist dramas. "You will always be a loser" could be interpreted as negative but listen to his voice - it sure as fuck doesnt sound like a guy whose given up... and by singing along we can declare that we havent either.

the end is the epitome of sing-alongs to me. not just because it kicks ass musically, but for the message i get. the end of this song is like a battle cry - we can all join together and share our mutual misery, fight and yell along to this mantra like soldiers on the frontline. but when the music dies down as the battle has been lost and we still feel like losers, Patrick assures us "that's okay." we can accept ourselves for the losers we are and take comfort knowing so many others feel the same
