How werid, his diologe sorta insinuates raidou forces him into helel form O.o which makes no sense lol

It seems more that since his 'demonic' form is not the 'true form', the battle became sufficiently heated that he could no longer maintain the demonic transformation and was drained, thus needing to recuperate in his angelic form, leaving him open.

Or, as he is the Prince of Lies, he was lying and is just sufficiently impressed and decides ti go easier on you to speed things up.
