  • i got mine off of ebay and it has pinch zoom right out of the box and so does my sisters

  • droid does your mom!!!

  • how much is the droid a month

  • Looked shitty though...

  • can this work with other apps

  • @Eclaire468 Of course.

  • Who gives a shit u stupid asshole! Android has a lot more cool apps, than multitouch...

  • iphone sucks!!!! u get service no where

  • yeah the iphone had multi-touch first and it comes standard :) I like how the droid had that tacky Verizon logo on the front of it everyone already know what carrier it's for they could have left that off but i'm not trying to bash the droid i'm sure it's cool but my iphone is better in so many ways

  • @doctorplayboy200 Sure, like that nifty spare battery you can carry. Oops... you can't. I meant the iPhone is better because of that 32gig SD card you can put in. OOps.. not that either. Ummm.... why is it better?? And what logo? Mine doesn't have the Verizon logo anywhere... not even on the startup screen. Who cares who had what first? Apple wasn't the first computer or phone, or music player, either. I switched from the iPhone and got a Droid... and I'll never look back.

  • @n1ztb if you don't have "verizon" on your phone.... its technically a Motorola Milestone..... which DOES have multitouch, and it works on t mobile, and AT&T...... but only AT&T's 3g

  • @n1ztb lol enjoy your Droid the battery doesn't bother me I could get a spare without opening the back. And all that opening the case does its make more room for dust to fly in and better chance of components being damaged . And I really could careless about a SD card I have enough space as is :)

  • @doctorplayboy200 I bet right about now you feel like a dumb ass for leaving that comment 4 months ago. Yes you are right. Iphone does come with multi touch already installed in the phone. Droid didn't get multi touch until update 2.1 and now Droid comes standard with multi touch AND flash already installed. Flash is somthing iphone won't be getting and adobe already said that.Which means I can play online games and watch online videos on my droid. Can't do either on your shitty iphone.dumb ass

  • @chris978820 No I don't feel like a dumb ass because I have always had multi touch for one, and I can also view and play flash content on my Iphone it's called Frash so i'm sorry to disappoint you. And really I don't use it to play games even though I CAN, maybe if I want to see an advertisement because that's all flash is good for. The Iphone in my eyes is still so much better than your shitty droid how many droids do that have now????? Better go by a new one, yours it outdated :)

  • @doctorplayboy200 Frash? It sounds like a retarded and gay attempt at full Flash since adobe said Apple products won't be getting it. So even if you have Frash then you still can't do as much as Droid users can do on their web browser. You don't need to play the flash games. You know how when you open web browser on your iphone it usually says something like cant open. needs flash when you want to go to certain sites or watch online videos? well i dont see that on my droid since i have flash.

  • @doctorplayboy200 and don't lie and say it doesnt say that.i have friend wit iphone and i know it says that. I understand that you are one of those apple fanboys that are so far back in technology that they just finally released an iphone with flash capabilities.lmao. so i understand that you are trying to defend apple.

  • @chris978820 lol you can think what you want my frash app works, your buddy must not know how to use it or have an old version and i'm not an apple fanboy just because I have a iphone I bought it cause I think it's the best phone out there and with the jail breaking community it will always have more apps and do more than any other phone. Have fun jerking off to your Droid FAG :)

  • @doctorplayboy200 it may work but you must jailbreak the iphone which Apple doesn't allow before you can install frash.Google and Verizon actually put full flash support in the recent update.which means we are allowed to have flash.why don't you unjailbreak your iphone and go back to stock and then let me know how good frash is working on your iphone.

  • @doctorplayboy200 Like i just said Jailbreaking isn't allowed so anything you add to the iphone isn't allowed either. But the droid has complete customization which is allowed.Google and Verizon basically don't prevent us from doing anything on the droid. If you want to download an app from the internet and NOT from the market then you can as long as it's in the right format which is really easy to find.Did you try that on the iphone?lol.

  • @doctorplayboy200

And I heard the iphone 4 has flash with the camera.Pretty good.I'm impressed. It only took them 3 years to add the most basic and common feature that even phones from 7 years ago have. But that little rubber cover for the iphone is pretty cool.lmao.But it's something you need right?since the signal is terrible? But I'll understand if you are still retarded and believe iphones the best. But if that's what you think then give me at least 2 reasons why iphone is better then the droid

  • @chris978820 Galaxy S, Android, New, powerful, Dont have flash with camera... You are just an apple hater.

  • @ableite Galaxy S doesn't even have version 2.2 when all other android phones have 2.2 and have been talking about 2.3 for a few months. So even though technically galaxy S is an android phone i don't consider it one of the more advanced phones. Good job at pointing out the ONLY android phone without camera flash. but the majority of android phones have camera flash which are also the more advanced phones. So give me 2 reasons why iphone is better then android. If that's even possible.

  • @chris978820 what's so great about your Droid again all of the apps are shit my friend got one so I thought I would see what all the hype was about not very impressed. Videos, games and the internet look better on my iphone and the flash support is slow and runs the battery down very quickly and it can't even stay charged for one day. We downloaded the same games my phone always plays them faster and is more responsive. Only thing better on droid is a bigger screen but the res is shit..........

  • @doctorplayboy200 It's probably your droid then. You must be so used to iphone technology that you haven't learned about the more advanced technology found in Droids and almost every other smartphone. It takes time to learn how to make it faster and how to prevent the apps from draining the battery.Good luck at figuring it out.It took me about an hour but that's because I was already used to it.But when you figure it out u can have your droids battery lasting a few days without charging.like mine

  • Can you leave comments on YouTube from the droid? And if so how? Also how do I save pictures to my sd card?

  • If you download the BB galery, it manages to give your droid/milestone multitouch (pin and zoom) in your browser and any media gallery you use

  • we all know iphone sucks..droid is the new generation of smartphones

    droids> iphones

look at all the awesome htc phones coming

  • Droid always had multitouch. Android 2.1 has pinch to zoom now for default browser, maps and gallery.

  • it works with the new update droid > iphone

  • Does this multi-touch/pinch and zoom work for the browser and internet on the phone?

  • no it doesnt.

  • Not at all, maybe in 2.1 with an updated browser? Would be nice.... No pressure @ Google

  • get dolphin browser its free android app with multi touch web broser

  • Comment removed

  • Doesn't that kind of contradict the whole point of patenting the multi-touch capabilities on the iphone?

  • i had a penis

  • Do games support multitouch?

  • Dolphin browser has the pinch zoom like the iphone

  • @FervidSmoker i downloaded dolphin but i cant pinch zoom

  • Works great on my DROID man; just as good as the pinch and zoom on the IPhone!

  • downloaded picsay. it doesnt work

  • @dilly84 it prolly didnt work for u cause u r too retarded to figure it out. u dum fuck

  • suck me homo. It just dont work. It wont work on my sisters or bros phone either

  • No offense guy, but you have no right to call someone retarded when you managed to misspelled almost every word you just wrote. Just Saying.

  • Motorola Droid for free at Gadgetton. com. You are lucky! amazing video...

  • The European version called "Milestone" supports multi touch right out of the box, both the web browser and the media gallery.

As I understand it its because Apple have made a patent claim over the function.

This is terrifying imo, so please yanks, make some noice!

  • Hopefully a custom ROM will be made that adds it to the default browser.

  • Or you could just use the Dolphin browser.. Its mozilla based, i use it instead of the default browser on my Milestone(Droid)

  • Does the milestone have a multitouch virtual keyboard?

  • ^^^ video is correct. Android 2.0 doesn't have BUILT IN multitouch. Pinch and zoom + other multitouch functions are possible to use via 3rd party apps. Ex: The Dolphin browser for Droid has pinch and zoom.

  • Comment removed

  • multitouch only in european version of motorola droid.

  • If only its wasn't a Motorola! lol

  • do you have to get the data plan with this phone?

  • Yes you do. It's $30/month and you get completely unlimited internet usage. That also counts for the GPS service because that's Google Maps and Google Maps just taps into your GPS sensor which doesn't cost anyone anything to use. Honestly though, if you don't want it with a data plan, you just don't want it. It without a data plan would be a $200 block with low(for nothing other than a phone) battery life that makes calls.

  • Not completely unlimited, technically. There's a 5gb cap/month. But unless you tether the thing and torrent 24/7, it's impossible to hit that.

  • Agreed, which makes it a reasonable price for what you get. Not counting the reliability you get with Verizon, assuming you're in America of course.

  • yes you do

  • @romaniandudeee yes u do but you really want to get one if you getting this its a google phone.

  • Wow your just trolling every Motorola Droid video huh? Get a life douche bag!

  • shut up little boy

  • your mom does

  • My Mom would never

  • Yeah, dolphin browser uses the multi touch

  • i dont care about pinch zoom for pics, i want it for browser!

  • Get dolphin browser... it supports multitouch

  • you're just jealous

  • The feature has not been practically implemented. Where this feature is needed the most is in the web browser. So even though you may have proven it capable, in comparison to the iphone it still lacks in that it does not work with the web browser.

  • But this shows that its merely a software limitation, not hardware. The screen is capacitive so it matches the iPhone's hardware, but support hasnt been implemented in Android 2.0 yet. But it is planned in a future Android release and will fully support web browsers, pics, etc. The picsay program is just temporary.

The Droid has many features that the iPhone cant match. Such as a larger higher res screen, multitasking, fully functional turn by turn GPS and a high quality 5.0MP cam with flash

  • The feature has been implemented wonderfully. Where the feature is needed most is the web browser, so i downloaded the dolphin web browser that has it. So, in comparison to the iphone which still lacks open development, droid is awesome.

    c wut i did thar?

  • yea only on the application thats it i didnt c u use it in the web browser or anywhere else

  • Cute dog, and is the touch screen really that good?

  • Thank you that was the only thing I did not like about the Droid, now its perfect.

Much better than my Iphone I had!

  • I think that eventually Android will come out with and app(or an update)to add the "pinch-to-zoom" capability to the web browser...

  • @tommytmt they did I just found out its called like the Dolphin something

  • @Rams4life94 thanks for the reply, I downloaded it yesterday and it works great!!

  • no problem

  • how much are apps? and is internet free

  • i Love the Droid... and the Ipod Touch ^^

  • thnx great app

  • The part your missing is the function is there. Only apps need to be written for it.

  • The only aspect that I absolutely hate about the droid is the storage space for apps. The Droid ships with a 512 MB ROM which contains only 256 MB available for app storage. You can't store any apps on the SD card. This limits heavily the abilities of the app. Especially in the case of games.

  • that's exactly why i hesitate to buy one....

For example where does google maps store its data? That must be quiet a big amount of data....

  • No, I think you should have no problem with that. Map data is usually not stored on rom space. But you might want to double check.

See for 99% of the people you shouldn't have a problem. I am a heavy smart phone gamer. Some of my games on the iPod Touch range from 90-300mb. They are not even a possibility on the Droid.

But that said, it is such a good phone. Call quality, screen clarity, camera quality is top notch. If you use just regular apps, I would fully recommend the Droid.

  • @TejasM14

Apps2SD solves your problem with big apps.

  • UPDATE: While it's true that the Droid only has 256MB for apps, commenters have pointed out that various resources for the apps (graphics, etc.) CAN be stored on the device's SD cards. It looks like the situation isn't as bad as the numbers seem to indicate at first. Google also wishes to fix the issue with upcoming updates.

Yeah, I will consider getting the DROID.

    See: bit 'dot' ly/G5Dek

  • i think it wouldn't be too hard to implement that.

  • Google maps isn't storing data on the phone dude....LOL. It's hosted through Google themselves since it's actually over the internet and not built into the phone.

  • As android is all opensourceish, it is possible to install apps on SD card.

go google for apps2sd. Maybe you have to root your phone.. Not shure about that

  • you have to root your phone to be able install apps on the sd card

  • App resources automatically go to SD cards, only core code stays in ROM.

  • Although the Droid does have full multi-touch capabilities, they didn't make it available on the browser because apple could sue them. Pinch and zoom is an apple trademark

But third party apps which don't fall under the jurisdiction can make full use of the feature. I LOVE the Droid. To hell with the iPhone.

  • Who gives a shit about such a stupid little feature. iphone fanboys are making it a big issue because they have no other talking points.

  • I think you answered your own question. One of the first arguments you hear out of an Iphone user is multi-touch. I for one like multi-touch but it's hardly a selling point on a device. As long as it has zoom period.

  • @Son37Lumiere It's just the fact that multi touch is a pretty useful feature which the iphone has and the Droid didn't have. But now the droid does have multi touch and has had multi touch for a few months which means iphone has nothing that the droid doesnt have. But the droid also has alot of features that the iphone doesnt have.

  • He's making sure you see what he's doing. How the user demonstrates multitouch has nothing to do with how the app works. But how the USER worked.

  • You're a fucktard. If he didn't make it obvious what he was doing, then you'd be touting how it's a fake video. Also, who says over-sensitivity is a good thing?

  • @denmapl Maybce you don't know how to operate a more advanced phone then the iphone. because i never have problems with the pinch and zoom feature on my droid 1

  • Hopefully this ends the Monopoly, bricking and plain arrogance of Apple. Now Verizon, lower your rates!

  • It's unlikely Verizon will lower there rates. It's rumored that Verizon will be getting the Iphone sometime in 2010. If that happenes At&t will fall off the map.

  • Not to mention Verizon and sprint will be the first to implement 4g networks. Giving the fact that Verizon will be one of the first, at any giving time their 4g expansion will be ahead of At&T.

Right now Verizon pwns and destroys AT&T on 3G coverage. I would like to see a fanboy refute this.

  • That's very true you mention the 4G. I think sprint is already implementing it...don't quote me on that.

Give it time I'm sure we'll hear something about multi-touch making AT&T better. lol

  • Sprint is implementing 4G, however their 4G network is WiMax, which is shit compared to VZW's future LTE.

I remember reading that LTE will be able to stream 4 HD movies simultaneously with no skipping/lag/buffer. (I forget where I read this, but it was discussing a future-dashboard in cars that are tied into the cloud and it used 4G LTE as its networking connection)

  • to those who complain about the multitouch... I don't actually have three hands so while I'm holding my iPhone, I double tap. I NEVER have both hands on it unless I'm texting. If you ask me the droid is better. It's like iPhone was reinvented and made better and then out on verizon

  • I have to agree on your point as I'm the same way. I prefer using one hand on my devices as they are ment to be portable. Having to use both hands to use a portable device seems to defeat it's purpose. Not that it's bad to have mind you.

  • why do you need two finger multi touch zoon when all you have to do is double tap on the droid??? think about it

  • WOW my iphone has that available for every app even in the internet browser where you really want it.

  • why do you need two finger multi touch zoon when all you have to do is double tap on the droid??? think about it

  • because it might not zoom in enough. It only zooms in a close at the longest line. After that you gotta push that crapy plus and minus thing. I had that on my G1. It sucks royally. I prefer my zoom on my iPhone.

  • Multi-touch is more granular. You can zoom in as much, or as little, in an intuitive way. The Motorola Droid isn't as nice of a solution. It works well, just not as good as multitouch - the fact that the device is capable of multi-touch, but they left it out on the browser, sucks.

  • The problem is that it is crippled in the browser, where most people want to use Multi-touch. Clearly Motorola and Verizon are trying to avoid litigation from Apple... but there are other multi-touch tablet devices (The Microsoft table, for example).

  • o wow da Mytouch has da same thing i will kno i have it!!

  • He says "What it doesn't have is pinch and zoom." And then the whole point of the video is to demo pinch and zoom. Yeesh.

  • can somebody rescue me from my loneliness ;)

  • CRAZY!!!

  • 1.5 has multi touch too... HTC Sense UI uses multi-touch in the Web interface too.

As long as the hardware screen supports multi-touch, then the applications can code to it.

  • Show it in the browser then!?

  • Ah yea, and it looks like it works great... eesh.

  • probably there is only multitouch in that one program.

    too bad

  • does this work in the web browser

  • finally, thanks a lot Rob for making a video on this

  • Nice vid, Interesting... This thing is a beast.

  • Honestly, is multi touch that big of a deal? no, it is not. All who have not had the Iphone really are not missing anything without this feature. And to be honest, I do not want the phone I am getting to exactly like the iphone. the iphone design and OS are both getting a bit old. in my opinion.

  • awesome, although in that instance or because of the way he had to hold the phone, it didn't work all that great.

  • I'm going to preemptively flip off Apple for their probable lawsuit.

  • Nice feature. I wish android had more apps

  • android is still pretty new. 2.0 SDK was just released to developers last week or so. so we gonna see more apps in near future

  • oh ok cool, jw do u know when the 2.0sdk might come to the mytouch?

  • If only this worked on the Android browser. It's be perfect for me and most iPhone switchers.

  • Hopefully pinch to zoom it will be part of a 3rd party browser app.

  • Firefox and Opera, you can just hear the rumbling of the hoof's.

  • droid is better than the iphone.

  • who the fuck cares. Multi-touch is a stupid gimick

  • agreed requires two hands to operate

  • That is fantastically awesome! Thanks! Now maybe Opera will build it in to browser support.

  • Oh yes, huge opportunity for third parties like Opera. And it would be nice to see Opera finally get some gravy since over the years pretty much every new innovation that has been a hit with users in other web browsers was already in Opera first.

  • can you use this on the browser or not?

  • why dont they put this in the browser and other things!?

  • Because Apple are whiny little pricks and will sue Motorola

  • so f***ing awesome
