This is a beautiful rendition of Where Have All the Flowers Gone. If you can't make out the lyrics I suggest you go and work on your English before criticizing Lara's. Her English is perfect here.
The addition of this track to her new song 我沒有 makes that song all the more poignant.
The singer has a wonderful voice, even when the english words not everybosy can understand. I also use the engllish language for communication. It is not my native language. But I really like this special version of the old song. The original version was written by Pete Seeger and sung by Joan Baez and Marlene Dietrich (Germany).
The song is used in many countries as the symbol agains the brutalitly of all wars. Lare gave this song a special interpretation.
Not if she's massacring the language. Honestly, I never understood the need for people to sing in English if they are not singing for the English speaking population. Chinese is just as beautiful if not more beautiful.
@carissa0515 I would hardly call this "massacring" the language. I can understand what she is singing perfectly; her voice is still beautiful.
Also, she even said herself that her new song can be played in unison with this song, to get a taste of two different kinds of music. So without this piece, her new song wouldn't have as much meaning.
And the fact that she was born and raised in the US, means she can speak/sing in English perfectly as well.
@ymtisd I'm also born and raised in the states. In fact i'm still in NYC, and all I can understand is "where have all the flowers gone" and some words here and there.
@ivana0319 "Born & raised in the States" - That's why you can't understand English - She's not singing in Seppo or Mercan languages, that's why you don't recognise it
I can understand her perfectly. Perhaps you all just aren't LISTENING.

@carissa0515 I'd say her voice is still beautiful even though you don't understand the lyrics, don't you agree?
