At 14 yrs. old this scared the crap out of me until the end when she channeled power with an evil grin on her face...then I finished the movie laughing and without bad dreams that night. I loved the posting by wimpous (ha ha) and agree that Michael Ansara was the best. P.S. there was a huge amount of bad acting (overacting, corny dialogue, nonsense, etc.) in the 70s and still a fair amount today. There have always been too many cowboy movies and too few about the First People of this land.
The producers made it clear they wanted to rip off the exorcist and star wars, and the script was only a mean to do this. They thought having a rip off of both combined with guarantee a box office hit. Yes, Hollywood producers think like that, even today. 3D, anyone?
ah, 70s memories. I remember seeing this at my aunt's house when I was younger, and this came out in 1978. How ironic is it that The year that this movie showed, that Tony Curtis's daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis would later be in Halloween in the same year. I can never get enough of the 70s horror movies.
I remembered reading the book years ago..MANY years ago, then seeing the movie years ago...MANY years ago...it's been one of my favorites for MANY years...Glad you posted it...but, was this an edited version? Seems the original had more Guts, especially when the attending nurse was skinned alive...
well i enjoyed this film i like how this horror film turned sci-fi at the end i enjoyed the fireballs kinda remind me of the video game Streetfighter..that short le Markus indian or whatever his name was he was rough, but he wasn't too tough against a typewriter
Raven hair, and ruby lips, sparks fly from her fingertips. Echoes voices in the night, she's a restless spirit on an endless flight. OOOOoooooHooooo, Witchy Woman, see how high she flies......
Ive just purchased The Law Of The Plainsman DVDs. Only 30 episodes made, but very underrated series. As for his movies, usually only minor roles, but The Message, The Doll Squad and The Long Road Home are just some. If you find anything of Michael's at all I'd love to see it.
By the way...what happened to part 10? Thank you to joshfantoo for posting the movie!!!

Girdler was an interesting filmmaker. A shame he died so young.
