Aw! i'll be teaching my pony to drive this summer. He's bigg enough though that he can carry me on his back. 9hh or 10hh..somewhere in there. I like to play with him like this too...but he gets a little rough and he's much bigger than these two. :)

Can you tell me a little about keeping mini horses? I'm interested in getting one, and have some questions. I love your videos so I thought I'd ask you:)

First: about how much space does one need? And would they be okay with living among sheep and two guard dogs?

Hi! I guess they don't need to much space, but I do have a big paddock where they can really run and stretch their legs each day. Yes, they can definitely stay with sheep. We used to have a bunch of ponies that lived with a herd of sheep and they were 100% fine together. They stayed at my neighbors, we had a big hay feeder and everyone ate together. The only thing is I would get two mini's, not just one because they do like company of other horses too. I am not sure about the quard dogs?

Great video and trick training! I have one question.... Did you ground drive or have your mini pull a smaller object before putting him in the cart or did you just hitch him up to the cart and start leading him in it? I am wanting to train one of my minis to harness so am interested in how you did it. Thanks.

Hi! I do usually ground drive my horses first for awhile. This way they get used to the bit and harness first. I also like them to know voice commands. Ho is the most important one. Practice stopping over and over. Once your mini is ground driving well, then get him used to the cart by pulling it next to him. Having someone help out is great. Let a friend pull the cart along side your mini as you ground drive. Also, if you ground drive your mini next to a horse that is driving it really helps.

Yes there are certain types of chain fence you can use. We even have a heavy duty chicken wire on some of our split rail paddocks. The little mini's can get out of regular fencing real easy. LOL!
