If it is one fight Hop want's, i feel it is this one. Speed kills. KP could not throw a punch because Hop would hit him 5 or 10 times in return. RJ could not throw a punch against JC because he would tag RJ 5 or 10 times. JC made Kessler quit because of his speed. So some will say RJ has the speed and Hop gonna counter. Two facts about Green v Mundine fight DC. 1. Danny lost his niece 6 days out from the fight. 2. Danny used to bust his ass to cut weight at Supermiddle. He is a natural Light Heavy or Cruiser and should never have really fought that light even if he did win the WBC belt in that division. Sure Roy might have the edge on speed but Danny has an A1 defence and loves stalking his opponents. You put that much pressure on a guy sooner or later he will get caught.

The only problem he will face are his legs which were his main escape manoeuvrings in the past and won him the fight in 1993. Great videos buddha, but i have to disagree with the prediction on this one. I think bernard's style just works better than roy's for an older fighter. Bernard has looked a lot better than roy lately. He did a lot better against calzaghe(i had it a draw) and he took tarver to school while roy got KO'd. I think we'll see flashes of the old roy, but hopkins will control most of the fight, not letting roy turn him and taking him to the ropes often.

Being and staying busy in a fight hasn't been a part of RJJ game in awhile. Although he did look good against Jeff Lacy but he isn't no B-Hop. I think it all boils down to who is a fresher and more younger fighter physically. Roy gets KO'd by Hopkins. I'm not sure if he'll survive Danny Green so the B-Hop fight might never happen. He still has very fast hands but his movement is only fast in spasms these days - he doesn't consistently move fast and ends up being pushed against the ropes very often. Once B-Hop has him pinned, its just a matter of time before he lands cleanly. Calzaghe looked like he held back against Roy but B-Hop will go all out for the KO to get that 60% purse. Lacy is nothing compared to B-Hop.

I should add that I hope it somehow goes to a decision and is a majority draw.. Then we got a Jones Jnr vs Hopkins trilogy on our hands! But I fear the worst for Roy in this bout, and truthfully I don't really want either fighter to lose.. lol

Bernard is a great fighter, but I think he won't throw enough to get the decision. Jus like in the Calzaghe fight, whether the punches land flush or not the judges will score for the flashy, speedy, exciting style, not the shoulder rolling one punch defensive style...But I'm still mad excited to see them finally settle the score, should be a good fight.

Roy Jones Jr. at his peak is one of the best ever, of all time. At his peak, even better than Bernard Hopkins at his peak (though Hopkins is/was also great). However, Hopkins has aged better than Jones. Jones' style was based around monstrous speed, his was a young man's game. The brief excursion to heavyweight did his body no favours. I think Hopkins is better at this moment. It's a shame that both times they fought, neither of these all-time greats was in his prime, but that's how it goes.

This fight has distance written all over it, but I still like it. Roy has the handspeed and Bernard's lack of volume and one-punch power should keep this from being a blowout.
