  • I think this song just made love to me...

and it was the best sex I have ever had.

  • After seeing so many lip synced versions, it is nice to at least have this one karaoke

  • Coolest Woman...Now I know who Joan Jett and Ann Wilson was watching.

  • wow! every girl in this video EXCEPT Mariska could shake it. she danced like a guy with problems. it's not natural for a girl not to be able to shake it

  • God I want to go to 60s 70s 2day!

  • Zero dislikes,as it should be.

  • bill graham presents

  • If you think US radio is bad - you wanna hear the UK man! FULL of mindless electronic drug fuelled muzac used to feed the new generation of dumbed-down mindless brits - at least the US still rocks. Europe is okay but England? The dream is over.... count your blessings.

  • @spacemanGoldie That just kinda makes me sad. If the sun has indeed set on the British Empire it is doubly unfortunate that the soundtrack to that has to be mindless electronic drug fueled muzak, but I guess the two go hand in hand.

  • @TheTiglathpilesar Yeah sorry man, didn't mean to bring you down, it is very sad what has happened to the UK, bands are struggling here to get heard. There is one radio station here that retains the creativity and open minded approach to new music and that is XFM - the DJ's are smarter and the music is better. X-factor and corporate intervention have changed the landscape. Government legislation has restricted pubs in their ability to support Live music through numerous regulations

  • im your penisss. your disiere XD....

  • this is a very clear version. my twin brother.......added the "bad" one on you tube a few years ago.

  • Thanks for posting the Top Of The Pops version, R.I.P. Mariska.

  • thanks to Youtube and your upload, I just deleted the Bananarama version from my iTunes library! the original version is way better and extremely groovy!

  • Venus was a decent song but wasn't really indicative of SHocking Blue's sound and unforunately cast them in a role, at least here in the US, as one hit wonders. Through You Tube I have gotten to know this band and am blown away by how many great songs they have. It is a pity that they didn't get the recognition they deserved in America and a pity that we didn't hear more of their music on the worthless, repetitive radio stations here.

  • @TheTiglathpilesar I could not agree more as your experience is almost identical to mine

  • @TheTiglathpilesar As you say Venus is a decent song, what really stands out is Mariska's voice

  • @TheTiglathpilesar Still, it makes me proud as a Dutchmen that we had a number-1 hit! :D

  • @132Reinier Dutch band maybe, but she was Hungarian...I think.

  • @StarVoyager9 yep...Hungarian on her father's side..he was a famous classical musician in Holland where Mariska was born..she's French & Russian on her mother's side :)

  • @132Reinier And you should be proud of such a fine band, but I would be more proud of the quality of their music throughout their career. They have so many great songs and did it without repeating themselves. Number one hit or not Shocking Blue was a great band.

  • @TheTiglathpilesar Watch what you say about people in broadcasting, i have friends that worked at some of the top stations in the country including KISN, KSFO ,KRLA ,WLS ,WCFL to name a few. And they were anything but worthless, the truth of the matter is the DJs don't select the music, it's what's on the playlist that counts. Also the music directors and producers really have the final say as to what and how many times a song gets played during a 4 hour show.

  • @bingobongo445 If you read my comment you will see I didn't so much as mention DJ's as being responsible for the state of Classic Rock radio format. I know full well it is the duty of programming directors at individual stations and at corporate headquarters who decide what will or will not be played. That being said, the content that they deem fit to be played is in fact repetitive and thereby rendered worthless In my opinion.
