Criminy, I love this record, and cherish the fact that I was able to attend a concert of theirs in 2001... Throughout middle school and into high school, I was happy to have them in my repertoire.....And then they released Gravity...and immediately drifted into the same homogenous mess, which comprises the greater whole of Canadian rock....To this day, this catastrophic transition still arouses a great deal of frustration and grief....but oh, the time from Naveed to Spiritual Machines...
@RobertEmmetChambers hahaha... dude first of all nobody has ever heard of joy division or slowdive.. so by saying that neil halstead and ian curtis have "music integrity" as you put it, you not really making much of a statement. Also, If this is so generic, name 10 songs that sound just like this one
@NonconsensualSex not at all, just saying that his point is weak because those musicians aren't very big, so saying that they have "music integrity" doesn't make a strong point
Well if you acknowledge the fact that fame doesn't necessarily correlate with musical integrity, then what's your point? He mentioned Yorke. And Curtis is actually very famous. Dig deeper than Nickelback, bro.
@NonconsensualSex im not saying it does, im just saying his argument is weak because not many people have heard of those two guys... I never said anything about Yorke.. and clearly this isnt Nickelback, its our lady peace, bro
@RobertEmmetChambers I lost any respect I might've had for your musical opinion when you said that Thom Yorke has "music integrity" as you put it, although "music" is not an adjective.
@NonconsensualSex I don't need to imply that Radiohead isn't brilliant, I'll come right out and say it. Radiohead is embarrassing, vapid garbage. Thom Yorke is a fucking joke, he's worse than Lady Gaga in how he's tricked stupid people into thinking he's some great artist and not just an idiot with little musical talent.
happiness is a great album, my favourite right next to spiritual machines. It just sounds like they wrote what they wanted to write back then. Now it feels like they just write because they feel they owe something to the fans, and that there might be some money to be made.
@Oasis1699 obviously, i don't agree at all with you there, but it's all a matter of musical taste i suppose?! some people like the happiness album the most, some people like the spiritual machines, or a different album the most. all in all, if you like anything by OLP, you're okay by me!

Anyone else here go to Woodstock 99? It wasn't anywhere near as bad as the media made it out to be. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
