Remember the underground 'temple' from the movie 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom'. Where they had the huge stone idol, and they were conducting human sacrafices?
Well...Spielburg should have had a small stage off to the left...with Jeff Beck playing THIS music! It's perfect for subterrainian, death-cult, human-sacrafice theme.
i wish i could play like this and still evolve, approaching 70 years old !!!!!!!!!!!! ( even thought, it was from 2001, he can even do better today if he wants to )
guitarist at this level : the best job in the world ; ) and so much more than that !
This solo at the end is just one more reason why Joe Perry, Dave Gilmour, Brian May, Slash, and Clapton, just to name a few, all name Geoffrey Arnold Beck as among their fave's. The colors and shapes he paints on the aural canvas with his deft touch and subtle use of the bar and effects turn my head inside out yet again. I've seen Jeff live 5 times and each time he is better than the last.
I've been a fan since I realized he was the guitarist behind so many great tunes... in fact he was one of the reasons I started playing. A guitar hero's guitar hero.
@Gothica247 hes not to underrated lol... he is #14 on the rolling stone top 100 guitarists of all time... but then again i guess he is underrated because I would put him up at least in the top 5 if not 1
No one can play like Jeff Beck - time has no bearing on the man - I can't think of anyone who was on the scene in the 60s who is still so way ahead of everyone else - he never gets stale and will always be 30 steps ahead
Love his old shit; Love his shit in this genre. Don't know exactly to call it 'cept BADASS! WOW, talk about take no prisoners - there's just a hole where the battlefield used to be!
NO ONE better than JB.............Period!!!
