I have 2nd degree burn in my lower right leg too about one week ago from hot boiling water. they are big but still smaller than you. Im so sorry for your pain but when will the dark (burn) skin peel off in your case? will it ever peel off tho? my burn skin begin to look very dry on that area now but doesn't look like it will peel off. What cream is that ? that you were using on you burn site? Looks like silvadene/sulfadiazene cream? Did it do the job? and what sort of dressing did the doctor prescribed to you.

tip: if u get a body part like hand/leg/head on fire somehow, shake it as fast as u can so heat wont gather fast (not to eficient but makes a diference when u get ur hand/leg on fire) and then try to extinguish it somehow. i had my arms wet in gasoline (degreesed a refrigerator compresor, the 1 inside the steel can) when duno how the hell when i put the compresor down, it just poof set on fire. i9 shaked my hands like hell and droped on ground with ma belly on ma hands XD no burn, just iritatio

well, if u shake it verry hard, u'l see thet the flame extinguish in the front, if u are lucky u can extinguish it just like this. don't shake it too long :P i shaked it in the half second it took me to drop on my hands. with a leg i think its harder to do that, because u cant shake it too hard, and as u sayed it might just make it worse. i think hands are the easyest to extinguish hehe.

the fierst day the adrenaline rush in my boby was a long last until a get to the hospital thear a Dr. give me a very high doses Demerol every 4 hours like for 5 days, then percoset on me and once in a while a shot of morpine. it was very very painful. I fainted one day by the pain.

Almost 3 months. 2 months to cure the burns and 1 month of physical therapy because I lost the mobility of my legs. My legs didnt support my weight, there were week. I learned to walk again.

3rd degree burns do not have pain due to nerve damage, but 2nd degree burn is very painful, and has blister, and nerve still intact, so it is very painful. However, 3rd degree needs eschar to get rid off non vial tissue, and it takes months to years to be healed.
