Arctic monkeys are working class lads from my home town, but they forgotten where they from. Alex turners a right nob head who's totally sold out and gone to live in noo yowak!! Saw them play Sheffield and they treat the audience with distain. The roses were real and never forgot their roots. Muse have gone all hoyty toyty and kasabian are boring.

They "borrowed" their whole act from the Roses though (the swagger, the "we're too cool to care", their look). But I don't fault them for this. Who wouldn't want to emulate living legends? But lyrically, Oasis can't hold a candle to the Roses. Consider the lyrics from, say, Talk Tonight to Going Down. No comparison. Ian was a poet. Noel just wrote lyrics.

Unfortunately, primarily because of the reasons I cited, my joy was short-lived. Kasabian are, IMO, decent enough, but they certainly lack that certain special something. But they are the most wickedly funky band since The Roses. Eh, I'll take what I can get these days.
