You're switching chords too early. You should play the E through the 3 + count, and switch to the G on the 4.

Get hold of Ds 1. tone at 3 or lower you get a (muddy sound). gain all the way, volume all the way up. contrary to belief, The Bass and Drums of Nirvana helt the lower parts of the sound , whilst Kurt played the high parts. don't play on the neck pickup. you want a bright sound almost metallic, but a little bit o reverb to keep natuarl, and lots of Mid to make it jangly. the Nirvana guitar sound was Jangly almost. heavily Disotorted too. play around with the Tone if you want high or low on Ds

I've been trying to get a similar sound to Kurt. its Hard work. He played in the Bridge position, get you tone knobs all the way up and vol. for amp settings, reverb and presc. on 2 (just to make it more natural and brighter) bass on 4-5 (keep it low) Mid (these are important!) get em high! 10! Treble 8 i say stay in even umbers. get lots of gain in there. Remember Kurt was inspired by Big Black. They wanted to be more edgy than Metal bands, but more serious less joke than Punk.

Hey Matt great video man but you might want to double check that Ab chord I believe Kurt acually just plays a C# to a C#addAb with his first finger just adding the Ab note on the 6th string on the 4th fret. cant u just do an Em chord in place of that E-5th chord? and after that, you play i believe it is an A-5th chord, (Em chord just move fingers down a string..) try Em (v ^ v ^ v ^) A-5th (v ^) C (v, (rest) ^ v ^) [ ^ = strum up, =strum down) and speaking of mess ups... that chord change that your doing only appears once in the song after the solo, before he starts singing...and yea...the rhythm is wrong, so maybe we should try this "how to play" practice session again?

@ExtremeJeffEnigma Actually it does go from E to E on the 9th fret. And the rhythm actually changes every two measures so everyone is a little wrong there. Check the real tab if you don't believe me at a music store. You can read the tab without buying the book.
