  • Great job! Sounds really impressive even if you know that it's only a computer who is playing :-)

I listened almost to the entire symphony and sometimes even forgot that it's not a real orchestra playing here.

Only one (actually unimportant) question: Why is almost the entire symphony noted in C minor ? It's of course played in the right key but noted in an other???

  • Welll, to be honest that's just the way that the midi file I used as a basis was made. I had nothing to do with that as it is a file downloaded from the internet. It just saved me a lot of work for having to input the notes. If I didn't have that I seriously don't think I would have had the ambition to finnish the project. Even with the basic notes taken care of it still took me several hundred hours of work to finish this:dynamics, attacks, releases, tempi, accents, articulations, cresc., decres

  • note placement, note durations. There was essentially none of that in the original midi file. It was completely and utterly dry and mechanical. This is also why the Bass line is largely missing in the second movement. It sounds like, from listening to numerous recordings. that they're playing stacatissimo dotted halfs through a large portion, but the movement is so busy it's hard to say for sure.
