This flood is not a freaking accident. It is the direct result of a policy of short sited profit making at the expense of long term vision. My relatives live on Sukmvit Road opposite the Emporium Shopping Centre. Bangkok has been sinking for decades. This is really awful.

@THEMAYQUEEN1 A lot of the land around the Gulf of Mexico has been sinking for decades. Oil extraction. I live outside Paris, France now and we get pretty high water sometimes. A lot of France used to have many trees, put there on purpose in the Middle Ages, and tiny farm plots, which acted as a sponge. As huge farm plots were assembled and mechanized and trees cut down, flooding has become an ongoing problem. It shouldn't have to be in many places.
