  • what is EF?plz someone answer me...thanks :)

  • @eminemyomen EF stands for "Education First". EF is a privately-held company with 16 divisions that offer a range of educational programs from language training, educational travel, and academic degrees to cultural exchanges. With a mission to break down barriers in language, culture and geography. EF High School Year Abroad is an exchange program for students between 14 and 18 years old. Exchange students live with a carefully selected host family and attend a public high school abroad.

  • I like how the first guy picked up the Minnesota accent.

  • I'm thinking about going as an exchange student to USA but I'm too young might be. Some people told me that, but I really wanna go to do Grade 10 abroad!! I think that it's a great expirience and opportunity to grow up at the same time that you can learn a new language and a different culture.

  • Go ISE

  • I suppose when it comes down to it it is really what you make of it, and Its just a chance that you take.

  • Im considering going on an exchange with EF, but I feel like it might be a little misleading because you only hear about all the really great stuff.. what about the disadvantages/more unfortunate stories? As much as I would love to experience exactly what all these students say they experienced, I just feel like it seems really happy chappy, a little too good to be true and unrealistic..Are all visits really as good as all these stories?

  • @DaCousins Hello, I think in the 2nd comment you've posted you made a good point. An EF High School Year is the chance to step out of your comfort zone and experience a new situation. There might be times where you miss your friends and family back home. On the other hand you have the chance to really experience life in another country, see yourself grow in ways that you might not have had the chance to had you stayed in your country

Your EF High School Year Abroad team

  • @EFHighSchoolYear Thanks for the responce :) Much appreciated.

  • Leonie has an american accent :O

  • I don't know why people are complaining about their experiences, at least your parents/guardians would let you even do the exchange program.

  • I just had my first week in high school, and i got to admit, that it was the worst week of my life.

Sitting all alone on the lunch, don't have someone to talk to, and just tons and tons of homework

  • @mattsson123123

Were you an exchange student from somewhere? From what country did you come from? And what country did you go to abroad?

  • @IWantMyVisionBack From sweden, to USA florida.

But to be really honest, it was stupid of me to complain, because there ain't to many that get the same opportunity to got to school in a different country.

And things just keeps getting better!

  • luv u leonie

  • @mmirzzi Me too! To France! :D but not through EF

  • @XdisXesXwhyXimXhawtX yay :D im going to USA

  • Im dutch and i can really pick out the dutch accent when a dutch person speaks english, but if daniel is actually from the netherlands his english has become soo good that i dont even noticed his accent

  • This might be a bit inapropriate, but the girl from Germany... Wooow :o

  • I live in michigan!!!!! WOOHOO!

  • I just watched the WHOLE video, I'm so jealous of people who are actually happy in their exchange year. The only thing left from mine will be very, very dark memories - a few friends and a new language... I exagerated in my last post. But i have suffered so much emotionally on this exchange, the host family doesnt suck, we just come from two different wolrds, the school is alright, and I've met really kind people. But still EF sucks because they don't give a damn about the students, and they lie

  • @alesoff123 Hello from EF High School Year in Europe. We are sorry to hear that you are not pleased with your exchange year and that you feel that nobody from EF has given you the appropriate support. If you send an e-mail to efhighschoolyearonline@ef.com with your contact details we will make sure that one of our support managers from EF Foundation in Boston contacts you. Kind regards, EF High School Year team in Lucerne, Switzerland

  • omg, leonie's english's so good. hope mine will be that good when i'm there. i'm going in 2013/14 ;D

  • They all speak english so fluently! I'm thinking about only taking a semester in USA, but would that help my english a lot? I'm already a B+ in english by the way. But after a semester in USA, could I get an A potention in english?

  • @missjoanna95 If you currently have a B+, depending on your progress during your exchange year, you should have a chance to improve your English to an A. Please contact your local EF High School Year office to find out more.

Your EF High School Year team

  • they all speak very fluently.

  • Leonie from Germany speaks English so fluent! (Beside, she's so pretty!) :p I mean, I'm from Germany too ans I also hope to speak English like her after my Enxchangeyear in 2012-2013!

  • Leonie speaks very fluently and she is so hot !

  • Can you go to America for a year if your a British student?

Or is it only for people who speak other languages?

  • @distantkilljoy You can still go even if you speak English already. You just have to afford it, but I think you do, you're British.. so yeah, why don't you contact EF? :)

  • @GossipBay Thanks for the help mate, i was just wondering because the people in these video's are mainly from Germany or other countries.

  • everything looks so good here.. but i'm in the us with ef too, i switched families a month after i arrived, and now i've been for like 4 months with another host family witch i dont like... now i'm trying to switch families again... and im jealous when i see all that other people enjoying this... cause even though i don't regret coming here, i'm not enjoying this at all

  • @9mariaa4

We are sorry to hear that you are not enjoying your exchange year. Please get in contact with your local EF representative or the EF office in your host country if you are experiencing problems with your host family. They are there to support you. I hope you can find a solution together so you can start enjoying your exchange year.

Your EF High School Year team
