This product is a three bladed designed from a company called Windterra. Yes both Windterra's product and Global Wind Group's ZuS Modular Power System (5 blade) as seen in the more recent videos are self starting.

This was a demo unit on the ground. It was windy that day and the turbine is spinning naturally and only at about 30%, so certainly not a gale force wind. Start up speed is only 3m/s so it doesn't take much wind to make it spin.

No electrical motor turning the turbine; now that would defeat the purpose of demonstrating a renewable energy product wouldn't it!

The turbine is spinning like it's a gale force wind BUT the guy's hair is not being blown and the bush in the background is barely moving. Makes me wonder if an electric motor is turning the turbine.
