We should take pride in our history, culture, tradition, and our separate nations. I can tolerate this man. His views are good, and better, they have nothing to do with Islamic nationalism and spreading of the religion. Nonetheless, you cannot be European when you read the Qur'an regularly and pray to a God in Arabic and carrying out foreign traditions that are not European.

Europe is not just a labor market, to be sold out to economic interests.

Europe is not the USA, where already the signs

I respect people's laws & customs. For instance, I would not demand pork or alcohol at a Saudi restaurant. Nor would I try to impose my values on their culture. All I ask, is that me & my countrymen be met with the same respect. Currently we are not recieving that respect. No Muslim schools, religious institutions or political parties in the West & no Western counterparts in the Muslim world. Would this not be a healthy relationship? We stick to trade & diplomatic exhanges, nothing more.

To say that there are 'European Muslims' is certainly true but to say that 'Islam is a European religion' is doubly false and misleading. The Abrahamic faiths are all Near Eastern in origin with many adherents from all parts of the world. The African Lily, a beautiful flower, remains native to South Africa even if it is grown on the West coast of England. The Enquiry should be about the faith of Islam in the context of European culture and not an opportunity to trade in ineffectual euphemisms.

Besides, the cultural "bricks", so to speak, of religion have multiple origins, and the religion in the past is hardly the same it is today, it evolves as it embraces new arrangements which couldn't have been predicted in other contexts.

Your analogy with the African Lily is completely missleading, because culture doesn't evolve as natural organisms do, its important features are never determined for once and for all by its origin, and if europeans are, among other things, muslims, then it becomes part of europeans' heritage too.
