Its funny because this tells how the super saiyan legend began. If i remember correctly broly wasnt the first super saiyan he was the legendary one. In the broly movie it clearly says that every so many years a super saiyan is born, and they all thought it only happened to one saiyan, and broly was it. No one new goku was born on the same day. So even though bardock magically went back in time, its suppose to start the super saiyan myth. Its somewhat of a prologue.
