@retrochad that little piano sounds awesome, I'd be tweaking the tuning over a period of months till it was perfect and held it though, (horribly OCD about tuning). Man I wish I could find a spinet that tiny, it'd fit perfect in my apartment, it's gotta be a blast to play. Ever since I saw this video I've been searching for one like it, they seem to be incredibly rare.
That sounds great! I like your playing ! I like when you hit those "suspended " or ninth chords That piano has a nice ring to it and it looks cool with the Art Deco style design and rounded edges .Can you play Wichita Lineman ,The Homecoming (Hagood Hardy) or Send in the Clowns?
@Maxxarcade Thank you...it was $75 for the initial tuning which included replacing one broken string, and then $80 to come back in several weeks and fine-tune it. It needed two tuning as it was so far out of tune. It really seems to be holding the tune well.
@retrochad if you want to hear a funny story I'll tell u one. My first piano was actually a wurlitzer. It was a black spinet and my dad actually drove into new york city to get it because someone was just giving it away because it was in a fire. I remember my dad repainted it with a broken leg, and he had my name full name painted on the music rack! But when I got my Yamaha Clavinova back in 1996, we traded that piano in. I wish I had kept it though.
It's amazing what a difference a tuning will make ! What is the National receiver behind you ? Is it an NC - 88 ? If so I had one and it was a great radio wish I still had mine ! Hopefully someday I will get a video camera so I can make some you tube videos of my collection and the new player piano . . .
@retrochad Ah,it's really a Graetz radio! I was not sure when I saw it. I have Graetz radios too. The Corporate Headquarter was in a neighboring city from my town where i live.
